Commercial Description:
The seasonal brew we prepared for Spring is a golden lager. To give this beer a unique twist, coriander spice and sweet orange peel were added to the kettle during the boil to provide a distinct flavor and refreshing taste. This beer was aged in it's fermenter for six weeks to add increased smoothness. The Spring Fest Lager is medium bodied with a highly carbonated crisp dry finish. Pilsner, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts give the beer a wonderful malt profile. The alcohol content measures in at around 5.2% ABV. Serve the Springfest with an orange slice on the rim and encourage squeezing it into the beer. The fresh orange enhances the delicate citrus flavor that already exists in the glass. I hope everyone gets the chance to try it.

dark yellow, thin white head, light citrus orange aroma (from the orange slice?), nice light malt flavor with a good deal of orange character, touch of sweetness, light spicy essence, missing the wheat, a cross between a wit and a lager?

Draught at the brewpub, as Springfest Ale
Blond color. The aroma is a bit perfumy, citrusy, flowery. Medium body, with a light Bourbon vanilla touch over a Lager-like beer. Odd.

Sampled at the NABA 06 Fest: Pale gold, nice head and lacing. Nose of parsley and tomato with light malt. Flavor is creamy with a fairly malty body for a light lager such as this. I can’t get past the nose on this one. We need some vinaigrette and mozzarella balls. Or maybe a good tabbouleh?

Beautiful golden and bubbly with a big poofy head. Nice lemony aroma. Superbly smooth, lightly fruity and bitter with mellowness. A hint of a banana-like yeast character even. Outstanding.

Sample. Almost no aroma. Crisp gold colour. Almost like a malt liquor. Alcohol notes and spice which complements my pizza.

Sample at the brewpub. Served with an orange, this beer pours a clear pale yellow color with a thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing. Light spice and citrus aroma. Light-bodied and mildly zesty with spice and citrus flavors along with some sweet malt. The finish is lightly spiced with a bit of citrus aftertaste. Average overall.

Part of my sampler tray. It was labelled "Seasonal #1", so I had to ask what it was and was surprised to find it a "Springfest Lager" when we were at the very end of summer! Anyway, clear light golden yellow. Faintly fruity, clean grains, crisp finish. Before seeing this on the website I pegged it as a slightly fruity version of a pale lager, almost Kolsch-like, but less assertive. Maybe my palate is worn out at this stage!
