Bottle brown, 330 ml
Appearance: Pours bright amber, honey like, sunny, orangy - reddish body, carbonation is natural and rather weak, body is very muddy due to a high yeast sediment resulting from long aging, head is off - white, slightly beige and whipped cream like in colour, deep, dense, compact, initially medium and slowly decreasing to small, there is a quite nice lacing.
Aroma: Very nice bitterness and dryness coming from the background, at front there is a gentle, milky, creamy, soft, silky, crispy aroma of malt, white bread, dough and gentle touch of cookies, yeasts and kind of tart wood, probably from aging, notes of raisin, muscat, orange, orange peal, champaigne, white wine grapes, coriander, perfumy touch of spices, quite assertive.
Flavour: Very strong and essential taste from the very beginning like in the example of Chimay Rouge, very strong and bitter hops which together with astringent spices contribute to the dry character of the beer, solid grainy base with notes of wheat and barley, dryness is balanced by smooth yeast contributing to the mellow texture. Nice alcoholic warmth in the aftertaste, alcohol doesn’t spoil the taste. Champaigne, white wine grapes, raisin, coriander, lemon, orange peal, earthy touches, dough and cookies, corn, long and pleasant finish. The great representative of its style.
Palate: Body is full, texture is dry, carbonation on palate is weak, finish feel is highly astringent, moderately alcoholic despite its 8%, very clean, aromatic hoppy, spicy.

Amber-orange color with medium haziness and frothy white head. Alcoholic figs, sugar candy, coriander, slight muscatel sweetness in the aroma. Good balance between the fruity esters and the herbal hops in the mouthfeel. More balanced body than Westmalle Triple.

Pours a hazy, darker golden-orange body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, dirty white head that dissipates slowly and leaves loads of lacing. Very nice looking tripel. Aroma is soft, but spicy. Fruity, yeasty, bubble gum, and earthy hops. Flavor is similar. Soft and semi-sweet malts in the beginning with the assortment of subtle fruits. Banana, raisin, melon, orange. Finishes earthy and slightly bitter with a decent lingering flavor. Dry and mildly peppered. Light bodied and very easy drinking. Overall, a very nice tripel. Well balanced and flavorful. Nice stuff. ljstephenson (112), Lawton, Oklahoma, USA

Plenty of spicy bits floating in the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and yeasty toasted bread. Initial flavor of citrusy fruit with a slighlty bitter hoppy finish. dionysus (98), Arizona, USA

The aroma is that of wheat and orange peels. Taste is typical of a belgian tripel with a spicy/yeasty finish. Overall a nice beer, but not the best of Chimay. kennydiaz (185), staten island, New York, USA
