jamvin23 (162), chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 15, 2009 Bottle. Golden with a huge white and long lasting head. Aroma: fruits, hops, spices Flavor: fruity hops joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 15, 2009 Orange/gold color and hazy. Thinnish white head, slightly above average for a tripel. Aroma of hops, dark fruits (raisins) and spices (cinnamon and some nutmeg). Flavor is hoppy, with light spiciness and some bittersweet effects in the finish. Overall a complex and enjoyable beer. Borup (1345), Albertslund, Denmark Feb 14, 2009 Bottle. Unclear golden colour with a big white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, yeast, fruit, spice and malt. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Feb 11, 2009 Hazy golden pour with some lively carbonation and a huge white head. Nice fruity aroma (citrus mostly), some spice and honey also. The flavor does not live up to the aroma. Tastes like watery bread at first, tons of yeast and malt notes, eventually a mild hop/alcohol bitterness shows up to balance things out a little bit, but fails to save the day. There are some decent dark fruit notes in there - I’m getting mostly raisin - but they don’t stand up to the yeasty bread flavor. Mouthfeel is pretty lively, but not really exceptional. I’m not really sure what to think about this beer. The appearance and aroma had me expecting greatness, but this one proved to be a bit of a letdown. cgreb (173), Marburg, Germany Feb 7, 2009 bottle - hazy orange brown beer with a beige head. Fruity yeast aroma. Flavour has a nice spicy bitterness, malty. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA Feb 7, 2009 On tap at the Back Abbey. Pours a hazy straw color with tall creamy white head. Aroma seems pretty tame. Mostly spicy with some yeast. Flavor is better than the aroma. More bitter than expected, spicy and fruity with apples, oranges and some honeysuckle. Medium bodied with a good deal of carbonation. funcut (120), SIBENIK, Croatia Feb 5, 2009 because in my country this one is expencive beer i drink it only few times...it is good beer butonly when you eat something and then drink only one beer .. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Feb 4, 2009 My least favorite of the three. It seemed like the flavors in this one were less complex in comparison. On it’s own, it’s a very good beer.
