dutch23mp (160), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA May 3, 2008 Bottle, I am fond of all the Trappist beers so it it not hard to give a good rating. A well rounded balanced beer . raymondwave (867), Finland May 2, 2008 Bottle 0.33 l (bb 2010). Hazy beige yellow with bigger particles falling to bottom of glass. Nose is a bit clayish, grassy, sharp and yeasty. Flavor is bitter, spicy and a bit weizenlike. Mostly just stingy bitter. Strangely unattractive and sparkly. Supposed to be served cold, but turned out to be much more pleasant after warming a bit. Sour, sparkly and bitter, can’t say I enjoyed enormously. Ober (1161), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands May 1, 2008 A bit hazy golden colored beer, with a nice white foamed head. The aroma isn’t very strong, a bit spicey, some fruits and hoppy. The taste is mild, notes from malt, hop and fruits. A good triple, but not my favorite. erunama (11), Washington, USA Apr 29, 2008 Pours a cloudy, deep orange color with large head. Smells yeast and sweet. Nice floral, peppery taste. Amazing mouthfeel, as I didn’t know a beer could feel as soft in the mouth. Finish is a little bitter with an unoffensive alcoholic bite. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden Apr 28, 2008 Draught @ Duvel Cafe, Stockholm 080425. Typical Cimay aromas of roses, coriander, marzipan and some yeastiness. Flavor and palate is very surprising. I never thought a beer could taste like fresh shellfish. Gravelly, salt, citrus and dill. The finish is slightly sour and bitter. But what happened with the flavor? albertane (376), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Apr 27, 2008 This hazy orange beer has a large fluffy head and is quite fizzy (slightly more than I’d like, in fact.) It has a spicy and bread-like aroma. The flavour is very nicely balanced between sweet, banana-like malt and bitterness from the hops with some alcohol on the finish. I found it very pleasant indeed. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 26, 2008 bottle. large off-white cramy/rocky head (almost completely lastlng) with great lacing into light brown body with dediments aflowin’. aromas of candied sugar, lemongrass, and yeast. flavor is sweet throughout with a touch of bitter at beginning. great hop/yeast/malt balance. great mouthfeel (very soft). short to moderate finish duration. above average carbonation. Excellent. travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Apr 25, 2008 High carbonation. Orange to amber in color with a big foamy head. Yeasty, spicy, and sweet in the smell. Much of the same from the smell is in the taste. Pretty good.
