RHeastings (377), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 21, 2009 Enjoyed from an 11.2oz bottle in a tulip glass. The beer pours a surprinsingly dark amber color, far more than most triples in terms of SRM. However, the darker color evidences its worth in the aroma, as the beer shows malt first, perhaps Munich or a heavy hand with Aromatic. A nice melange of yeast-derived esters add some dark fruits to that mix. The palate is malty up front, tasting almost of a Vienna lager. Malt carries through the mid- and late palate, complimented by a nice hop balance, and supporting fruity (but not over-the-top) yeast notes. The finish is neutral to slightly sweet, but certainly not cloying. As I work through the glass, I am greeted by a pleasant warmth that is welcomed, even on a warm day. Overall, perhaps a bit on the edge in terms of style, but perhaps right were a true tripel should be. alraicercsu (166), Ft.Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2009 Bottle. Poured a cloudy yellow color and smelled strongly of yeast. Tasted yeasty and a slightly citrusy. Travlr (698), Washington, Washington DC, USA Aug 18, 2009 On draught at Birreria Paradiso. Cloudy amber orange, aroma of raw pizza dough. Flavor had hints of orange peel and clove. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2009 750 into a trappist glass. Red is still my favorite, but this is also delicious! A very good tripel. strowlands8 (75), Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2009 Not too much point giving the finer details due to the large amount of ratings. But I thought it was a solid beer with a great nose and first few sips but doesn’t finish quite as well as I had hoped. TreborWhip (67), Reading, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2009 Bottle poured into a Trappist glass produced a very light, tan head and beautiful bright orange body. Good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Smell and taste reminded me of white grapes.
