MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Feb 6, 2008 It had a cloudy yellow body, slighty fruity, and slightly hoppy. Needless to say, it was very well balanced. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA Feb 6, 2008 Pours a hazy brown-gold color with a substantial white, fluffy head. Aroma is of fruit and yeast. Flavors include some spices, yeast, alcohol, citrus, hops, and it is a little bitter. Quite good though.
11.2 oz. bottle. daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA Feb 4, 2008 Mmm! Chimay-may! This beer is pretty good, but for only 8% I thought that the alcohol taste was too prevalent. I think I prefer the other Chimay beers to this one. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA Feb 2, 2008 Nice beer. bottle from Glenville beverage. Served 50 degrees in a tulip glass. Pours a dark, cloudy yellow. Huge, thick white head. Nice Brussels lacing. Smells of hops and yeast. Taste is definetly hoppy and a little yeast, maybe a little raisin. Nice beer. Ill get it again. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Feb 2, 2008 Ive had many a Chimay (and love them) before, but I just picked up a 3 pack to rate today, so i’ll start with the first. Pours a cloudy peach color with a creamy white head. Aroma is a bit faint, but I smell a little spice and bananas. Flavor is the same, good overall. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2008 33 cl bottle, hazy golden pour with large head that quickly dissipates to a fine ring, hopyy upfront with good fruity flavor, finish tailed off a little too much and became more bitter than I would like. RomanW70 (297), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jan 30, 2008 Updated: Feb 1, 2008Pours reddish gold with a consistent thick head. Aroma of banaas, apples, raisins, and aromatic hops. Well balanced beer. Can definitely tatse the hops. Bitter finish with some spice. Excellent beer. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jan 29, 2008 In the 330 mL bottle from Beertopia. I’m surprised that I had not rated this one before. Lucky for me that Beertopia breaks up the holiday pack and sells these individually. Pours deep gold with an enormous concrete-like off white head. This head stays rock hard throughout the drink. It is almost a solid. The aroma is mildly fruity, but also has a bread dough scent like the baking of rolls. The flavor has a mid point sweetness that gives rise to a big orange peel bitterness on the back of the tongue that just sits there and gouges you. Plenty of black pepper on this one as well.
