Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Poured a golden hue that when settle had a sit head on top. Seemed to have a lot more carbonation then the red or blue labels. A somewhat strong bitter after taste, but was great going down with the slight flavor of fruit.

Not a very strong aroma. Slightly darker than other tripels, very sparkling with a nice frothy head. Nice flowery hoppiness with cheesiness. Long and slightly bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber hazy color with a large, dense white head. Lacing is ridiculously strong. Aromas of spruce, banana, dough, and hay. Palate is exceptionally smooth with a very creamy finish. Tastes of banana, butterscotch, bread and smooth citrus. This beer is just plain awesome. Greatness has been achieved.

This was an unbelievable beer. Personally I’m a fan of Trappist ales, so it’s probably a bit of a bias. It was on tap, a fantastic two finger head pour. At first i wasn’t so accustomed to it but as i drank, it became amazingly better. The muscat flavor is probably the most prevalent and noticeable. For anyone who enjoys the Trappist beers, this is an excellent tripel.

bottle @ home. Got this beer as a christmas present. I like this beer. Pours a golden yellow beer with a huge white head. Aroma contains hints of fruits and bitterness. The taste is also sweet with bitter notes. Great aftertaste. Want to drink this one again!

Small bottle, pours a hazy mixture of peach skin colors – reds and yellows with particles floating around, made a two finger white head, head is persistent and hangs around, leaves lots of lacing on the glass as I drank, aromas of lemon citrus, light fruit, fresh floral scents, faint white sugar sweetness in the background, flavors of light orange fruit, pale malt, faint cake mix, a little orange and sugar sweetness at the beginning of the sip, finish is dry and has some bitterness with a touch of pepper and field herbs trailing afterwards, mouth feel is less than medium, nice tasting Triple with little sweetness, no alcohol in aroma or flavor, and ends pretty dry.

From bottle on 12/24/09. Pours a hazy orange with sizeable off-white, creamy head. Aromas of sweet spices, yeast, light on the malts. Taste is dry and slightly sweet. Spices are a positive in this tripel offering, not a hinderance. Alcohol is well-hidden - simply an excellent and world-class abbey tripel!
