Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Apples and cut grass aroma, just after rain perhaps. Tastes also of apples, but with some bitterness. Golden and rounded, sits on the tongue for a very long time. Then blossom and flowers take over. Can be drunk with little of the yeast poured across, but better with more yeast, as it softens the taste positively.

(33cl bottle) As part of a LCBO gift pack with red and blue, the white Chimay pours a frothy, almond cappuccino head and a cloudy orange body. Beautiful visually. Faint aroma of fruit, oak and spice. Full-bodied flavour, perhaps more spicey than the other two Chimays but same mellow, bitter finish.

Honey cloured but a little hazy nice white frothy head aroma fruit and hoppy aroma. Very strong tasting maybe a bit too much alcohol there. Good but not one of my favourites

A cloudy golden body. A balanced aroma from some toffee and perfume. Champagnelike palate. The Cinq Cent has a cedar-tree-aroma and flavour; or like a pencil(?).

Draught at The Rover, Gothenburg. Golden, with a white creamy head. Aroma is fruity, rather amild and with some yeast. Has a sweet, herbal flavor. Better than the blue Chimay.

75 cl Bottle, 2002 Vintage Hazy orange. Woody, geueze-like aroma, i.e a little sourness. Flavour is smooth malty, rich woody(or is it cork?), a little chocolatey and finishes woody. This one might suffer from the cork, but what the heck.

On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear gold with a large lasting white head. Aromas of fruitiness, spice and a hint of honey. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, light fruitiness, light honey and a hint of spice with a smooth dry finish.
