Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Bottle. Sweet aroma - apple, peach. Orange tan color with small head. Light peach/apple flavor with moderate acidic/astringent finish. Subdued but sublime - a great beer.

In my opinion this is the 'worst' Chimay. Offcourse it's still an excellent beer. Good spicy taste
#Rerate (april 12, 2004) Aged. Apple and yeast in aroma. Malty, sweet and full. Lacks fruitiness compared to the chimay speciale. The Speciale is certainly better for aging purposes.

A very nice Triple, but I am not the biggest fan of Triple’s compared to other Trappist ales. Appearance is the typical Triple yellow with a big foamy white head. Taste and mouthfeel are very dry and not as fruity as I would have liked. I personally would select one of Chimay’s two other common offerings.

Very tempting aroma, looks like a golden cloud. Rich, full flavour. Plenty of mouthfeel(dances on the tongue) A true Trappist Ale, great to the last sip!

My least favorite Chimay! I’m glad I opted for the smaller bottle of this one. Pours a light gold color with a thick white head. Nice effervescence and minimal lacing. Aroma was actually skunked a little which surprised me. Some spices were also evident but it was ruined by the skunk factor. The flavor was a peppery and yeasty and light. I will try this again sometime and hopefully have a better experience, but at $4 for the small bottle it won’t be any time soon.

nice laid back aroma, vanilla, fruits, when warming up a bit i got something roasted too. could be more powerful. hazy golden with large thick head. nice flavor. very well balanced. i get honey, sugar, little bitterness. RB rating too high imo, but it is well balanced.

I prefer the Bleu as well. This one was OK, but I think the astringent flavor was a bit much.

330ml bottle. Cloudy golden color body with lots of particles and a very nice rocky white head. Aroma is spicy and sweet. Many different flavours complementing each others. Yeast, orange, peppery spices, biscuit malt, warm alcohol feel, sweetness, I’ll stop here. Very lively carbonation. Astringent finish that dries the mouth, leaves a long spicy after-taste and makes you want to sink right back into it. Very complex beer that felt more crowded than a Turkey prison cell.
