Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

750 ml bottle. Pours a copper red type of color. Big fluffy head. Aroma is of spices, banana, and an alcohol smell. Flavor is a little bit sweet and fruity with lots of spice. Slight alcohol taste, but not alot.

On tap at OTH. Pours hazy gold, white head. Taste / aroma, fruity, yeasty with some nice sugary notes, and caramel malts. There are some nice underlying nice dark fruits notes that are very subtle. A great unique Trappist beer. Goes nicely with some Chimay cheese.

Bottle. Aroma is of tart citrus, lots of spices, and bready, Taste is tangy citrus, bready/yeasty, spicey, almost like a chardonnay with a slight alcohol warming, and a tart citrus/bitter lemon dry finish....very good tripel.

Golden color, medium sized foamy head that had a decent amount of staying power.Malty aroma with slightly sweet tone mild hops and a slight floral attitude. The flavor was mildly malty with a good fruity taste the alcohol has a little bite to it in the taste but it fades after awhile. The after taste is bitter with a slight fruit tone to it.Nice feel in the mouth Fairly high carbonation, kind of makes the flavors dance around on the toungue a bit.Not bad,I think i prefer some of the American versions a little more then this one but it certainly is a pretty good brew.

12 oz bottle-pours a nice hazy orange hue with a nice big pillowy white head. Aromas are citrus like, but not in the hoppy sense-oranges, bananas and dusty yeast esters (my BBB63 quote for the day) Flavors are fruity, yeasty and juicy-lots of citrus. Great palate-smooth and round. A great trippel

Draft at San Diego Brewing Co. Rich golden color with a very nice head. Aroma of citris with a decent flavor to match. The only problem with this beer was the price I had to pay for it.

Bottle at home. This is an excellent beer. It has a huge head, not too much alcohol. It’s heavy but very fruity. A very balanced and excellent experience.

Bottle in Uvdal. Hazy orange with a large white head, some lacings. Aroma heavy malty (fruity, orange), moderate hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, moderate bitter. Medium body, lively carbonated.
