Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Pours cloudy blonde colour with a huge white head. Lots of carbonation, semi-tart flavor, and light fruit. mouthfeel is very creamy and bubbly. Aromas of fresh hops, grapefruit and lemon. Taste is slightly bitter, but still very smooth.

High carbonation. Orange to amber in color with a big foamy head. Yeasty, spicy, and sweet in the smell. Much of the same from the smell is in the taste. Pretty good.

Prickly, robust piny aroma with an alcohol body in this taupe-orange brew. Smooth body sends piquant signal to nose, but the flavor is more warm and rounded in mouthfeel than having distinct decipherable components although wheat and evergreen needles seem detectable. Alcohol is present, but well masked. This beer finishes with a peppery pinyness.

Good and spicy. Pours beautifully, with a full head that stays around for a good long time. Nice flavor. Still good, but my least favorite of Chimay’s offerings. Better Tripels exist, though this one’s quite good.

A great beer. Part of a 3-pak with a free Chimay glass for $6.99, what a bargain. I would have bought all of them if they had more than one. Beautiful hops, great orange/brown color, creamy white head. Not as good as the Blue but definitely something I could drink a lot of.

Hazy and muddy orange in color with some yeasties floating underneath a creamy quarter-inch, off-white head with wondrous lacing from the get-go. Spicy, floral ambitions in the aroma with some stark lemon rind, buttercream, shortbread, pepper, starch and coriander to boot. Whole wheat bread flavor toys with baguettes. Biscuity mouth feel progresses alongside detectable alcohol, all in cahoots with a curt barnyard (bordering) funk composure. Sharp palate sting, then a yeasty recession. An elemental understanding of the harsh reality of how to hop a Trappist tripel to spicy bitterness. Forceful, delectable palate battle that simultaneously stays creamy and clean. Spicy hops and a dirty little yeast strain lead to a finish capsulated by peppered grain and herbal buttered sourdough. A good benchmark for the style.

Insane carbonation. Bananas like their others thx to yeast I’m guessing with pepper and spices. Solid Tripel, but I’ll take R or B over this in a second.

33 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange gold with big white head. The aroma is very yeasty with some citrus, honeysuckle, a bit of bubblegum. The flavor moves in phases: sugar and malt first, then some rather bitter hops, then the yeast in the finish. The hops stick around in the aftertaste. A very satisfying Tripel.
