| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 13, 2006 Orange/amber-bodied with a white head that holds. Light particulate haze at first that thickens to opacity near the end of the 750. Aroma is musty with sour fruit, light lemon, vinegar and vinousness. Prickly on the lips with a spicy/fluffy mouthfeel. Yeasts are mostly sour atop a base of malts that leaves the impression of a thicker body. Bitterness to finish.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2006 This cloudy golden ale poured with a typical fluffy Chimay head. The combination of abundant hops and the outstanding Chimay yeast creates a pleasant fruity flavor with a slightly bitter finish. This is a good brew, but not as distinctive as the Blue label. jeffc666 (1895), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2004 Golden amber body is topped by a gorgeous white creamy head that clings to the sides of the glass in huge thick sheets. Fruity peppery aroma. The flavor packs a surprising astringent wallop. The fruity and peppery flavors are there but the astringency and alcohol flavors are a tad overwhelming. Body is very lively. Overall this beer looks awesome, smells great, but the flavor is a slight letdown but still not bad at all. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

The head was medium, white, and creamy. The aroma had the sour/earthy belgian smell, light citrus hints, and alcohol. Maybe some sweet malty aroma in there. The flavor was full and carbonated with a spicy mouthfeel. Definite alcohol hints with some ripe fruit and alcohol. The palate was cabonated and bubbly and the finish warm. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 14, 2005 pour a deep golden hazy color with an off-white eggshell fat head that lasted till i finished the beer. its aroma was of fruit, citrus, spice and floral hops. the taste was sweet smooth, with one again the presence of fruit and spice with a tiny dry finish, the body was good nice beer, very drinkable. iowaherkeye (1877), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2006 750mL bottle, no date. Pours a hazy orange golden with some chunks and a one finger fading eggshell head. Aroma of yeast, and dusty grassy hops are the strongest, though the overall aroma isn’t terribly strong. There was a little bit of fruitiness as well. Flavor is the same with a little bit of candy sugar added. Dry bitter finish. With the exception of La Chouffe’s Houblon, this is the hoppiest tripel I’ve had. A little bit of warming ETOH noted. Highly carbonated, a little lighter bodied than I had expected. This was a little bit of a letdown for me. I think that some of the reason for my low score is for the lack of complexity. Sure it tasted all right, but I just didn’t feel it had enough going on with it.
