Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Pours a cloudy beige with yeasty chunks and a big white head - fluffy, long lasting, nice lacing. Aroma is oranges, bananas, and spice. The flavor is dry and bitter with orange peel, pine, and grass. Long, bitter, tingling, soapy finish. Champagne mouthfeel.

Yeast, light citrus, clove noise. Orangish yellow in the glass with marvelous head retention. Nice and warming, a hint of lemon zest, yeast and corriander(?)

On tap at Milltown, Carrboro. Been a while since I’ve actually had this, and it remains delightful. Beautiful looking cloudy orange in a Trappist glass, with a healthy and substantial head. Lots of spice and a tad of citrus in the aroma, and the mouthfeel is quite lustrous. Awesome dry finish is a bit of a surprise, but makes this dangerously drinkable. Fine stuff.

Good cloudy color, wonderfull head. I can smell the yeast from across the room, nice. Great full, malty mouthfeel. Creamy. Lots of yeast, fruit up front but also very defined by its bitterness. Very present alcohol, but not offensive. A triple that is not boring and dry, I like it!

Bottle. TOP 3 ! for me. It only gets better.Like some have said, fruity and floral. One of the best beers that I’ve ever enjoyed. A great Summer brew. The fruity notes combined with the hops makes it very well balanced.

Amber. Very creamy head. Fruit, alcohol, yeast, a hint of dry bitterness in the finish. A very balanced trippel.

I detect a baked apple taste, with some yeast thrown in to boot. Also, there was a certain mustiness about it that I felt detracted from the beer. There wasn’t much of an aroma, and its appearance was hurt by its weak head and murky body. Note - I had the beer in its 11.2Oz ’Triple’ incarnation.
