Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

330ml Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a 2 finger creamy white head. Nose is yeast, spice and hops. Taste is Belgian yeast and spices and a bitter hop finish. Medium mouth feel. Part of a 3 bottle vertical I did. This was first, and came in last. Still good however.

On draught at Milltown. Pours a glowing orange with a thick, small bubbled white head that lasts. Very nice appearance from these native belgians. I forgot about that. Aroma is nice with cloves, citrus, and belgian yeast. Flavor follows suit and is nicely dry and slightly bitter along with the expected malt sweetness. Its been ages since I last had this beer and I must say I am quite surprised with how much I enjoyed it.

Honestly, this didn’t blow me away or anything.... but you’ll see. Poured a medium sized creamy and thick white head that never fully went away, beautiful misty orange (standard tripel) colour, with lovely streams of carbonation near the top. The nose was an assault of coriander and "orange juice". Tastewise, it didn’t impress me. I never felt that it was the best tripel I’ve had (close though). Grapeseed bitterness is the main taste here, and it’s mixed with pronounced spiciness. Interesting two-front assault, but it perhaps needs a more pronounced malty background to prove to me its "classic" status. It felt too harsh, and overhopped. Maybe with some aging...

Pours golden with a thin foamy beige head. Aroma of yeasty esters: bubble gum, oranges, flowers, and alcohol.Taste is honey malt, sweet and yeasty, notes of bubble gum and mild fruitiness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy bodied and sticky with lush foamy carbonation.

(on bottle)Light orange, slightly unclear, remaining white head. Alcoholic sent with notes of burnt toast(with abricotjam). Very fruity, more than I could recall, warming and with alot of sugar in it stil. It´s fruity is taste too; apple, abricot and some hazelnut(green). Finish get very warm and good.

Golden in color, great lacy head, more of a hoppy nose, a bit of bitterness in the aftertaste, very smooth, very rich, had the pleasure of partaking in this very excellent brew ON DRAFT at Monks Cafe in Philly

My favourite of the Chimays. Cloudy golden colour with a large white head. Nice lacing. Good mouthfeel and lots of carbonation. Lots of fruit and spice in the nose and taste. Slightly bitter finish. Dryer and crisper than the other Chimays. Great beer.
