Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Nasty colour, Typical trappist-taste and a pleasant palate

Had this beer on 3/7/2007. Aroma is a light sweet malt scent that reminds me a bit of a White. Color is a pale hazy gold with good carbonation and a nice tight head. Taste malty, crisp and bitter. Starting with light/medium body it goes down crisp and fizzy. Finish comes in with a mild malt flavor and a faint hop flavor then it ends with a nice bitterness. After there is a slight fruity back tone. It just doesn’t have that fruity yeast taste that is in the other two beers. Would be a great beer for a nice summer afternoon.

This comes across super dry and really salty. Very hard to drink. I like my tripels with more sugar and less bite. Pours the typical yellow color with a big bubbly head. Smells like brewers yeast. Not that great.

Does it make a difference that I have had this from the genuine glass? You can see why they recomend this glass. Beautiful billowy head that settles well and leaves a great lacing all the way down. Subtle fruity nose, and a prominent hop bitterness on the back palate. Another excellent beer.

Clear color and much elegant one. Impenetrable and dense. Creamy foam of good persistence. Intense and strong aroma; wine cellar and mildew are the stand out scents. Optimal perhaps lightly too much alcoholic persistence even if.

I had a couple of goblets from draft. Definitely a strong ale, that did not have as much aroma as I expected. I do agree this beer "melts in your mouth" and also began to "melt my senses".

750 bottle. Beautiful hazy golden color with a thick head that floats on top. As it warmed the fruit and floral notes came out, especially banana. Some spice, didn’t notice much alcohol.

Bottle. Unclear golden colour with a big white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, yeast, fruit, spice and malt.
