Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Bottle as Cing Cents. Poured a hazy golden hue with medium creamy white head. Aroma was complex with malt and citrus. Flavor was a moderate sweet with the same complex long finish. Creamy full body. Good brew.

Bottle. Pours a hazy slightly orange colour with a longlasting thcik off-white head. Sweet malty and yeasty aroma. Sweet malty spicy and slightly yeasty flavor. Malty finish with some nice spicy yeasty and bitter aftertaste.

Beautiful aroma of oranges and spice. Hazy orangey colour with excellent head retention. Taste again is spicy and hoppy and clean. There is a slight harshness after swallowing hence the lower score there. A quality beer none the less and very drinkable.

Starts with peppery aromas and a spicy palate. This foamy beer continues with caramel notes and ends with more spices. Has a nice warming finish. Good ole Chimay!

Cloudy golden orange with a fluffy, disappearing head. Fruity aroma with some hops. Quite sweet, very fruity (banana) and some alcohol. - Re-rated since it was one of my first ratings and excitement over good beer took over back then

This one pours turbid pale golden, with a creamy head and lace. Aroma of hops, yeats, champagne, fruit. Tastes of hops, fruit, malt, with a slightly dry, fizzy, complex finish. A good beer, but not a hall of famer for me.

Hazy golden ale with discrete floaties and a thcik luscious white head. Nose of coriander and yeas, with a touch of alcohol. Sweet yet in a restrained fashion, with hops domineering quite well over malt, lingering coriander, bitter oranges, creamy in outh and complex. A classic. Santé aux voyageurs des papilles!

33cl bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy light amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly to moderately yeasty (mold, cobwebs), lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of pineapple, clove, and pepper/alcohol, hint of plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy/creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Not a yeast character I’m fond of, that moldy wet basement kinda thing. Still, this is easily the best beer made by Chimay anymore. Red and Blue are laughable nowadays, and Doree is just dull.
