I really enjoyed it, but before I can say much else I’d have to try it again. Had it out of a Chimay Goblet, which enhanced my drinking experience. Easy to drink with a nice texture. Very nice to look at, with a constant slow swirl in the surface foam. The big problem here was a very malty acidic burp several hours later. johninmelb (695), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

Probably the most consistent of the bunch, which has its own merits I suppose, and a really strong finish. ... On another tasting four months later - this time from the larger cinq cents bottle - I got a lot more from it. Very smooth with tons of great flavour - a touch of pleasing alcohol leading into a fruity, hoppy swig, like liqueured cherries or something. PrinceofNessus (236), Westminster, Colorado, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 21, 2003 The appearance is perfect, a thick white head crowning a translucent golden liquid. The smell is tantalizing. The taste however is the best part. It tastes sweet, but in a way that does not assault the senses. There is a hoppy, fruity taste followed by a welcomed hint of bitterness. The palate is full, more than I expected in such a light beer. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Citrus and other fruit, as well as light floral aromas. Gold, with a large head. The flavor is very sweet; with dried fruit. One of the best aromas I have found in a beer, and a great example of a sweet fruity tripel. LarsHolmer (112), Göteborg, Sweden
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 16, 2003 In spite of its OG (20 Plato) this Trappist has a surprisingly light body with a distinct malty flavour and a hint of Junipher in the finish. Try to keep the bottle for, at least, two years before opening. Steib (581), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA

Aroma is distinctively malty, a little fruity. A wonderful balance of complex flavors shine through. It's highlighted in the end by a dry, zesty finish. Drinking this ,I'm only a few stories from heaven. ivan9856 (130), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 30, 2005 I sampled the 0.75L corked and caged bottle typical of this variety, the uncorking of which for me is a much loved ritualistic event. The bottle poured brilliantly gold, effervescent, slightly hazy and with a huge snowy white head. But the head disappeared fairly readily, leaving some decent lacing and revealing a rich aroma of ripe banana, raisin and honeysuckle. Initial palate is slightly sweet, fruity and characteristic of white grape raisin, orange rind and spice. The finish is tart with light hop bitterness and hint of alcohol. There is a pleasant and dry, but brief, aftertaste. This beer is near perfect served at about 48-50F; very nice. DKlovesbeer (172), Sarasota, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Mar 4, 2004 Has a big yeasty, cream colored head that bubbles out of the glass like cappuccino froth. Body is thick, deep, and golden. Has a fruity, aroma with big blasts of malt and yeast and subtle hints of hops and alcohol. This beer is loaded with flavor: yeast, fruits, hops, and alcohol battle for control of your senses throughout this beer. Overall, I think this is an awesome quaffing beer. Would be great at a party, served in goblets, with some bread and cheese.
