A little bit fizzy at the beginning. Aroma is sweet, apricot anda candy... Taste is caramel but citrus as well. Spicy. It has the charactreristical flavour of belgian yeast very well combinated with the flavour of hops. Bitterness is excellent. Finish is great too, dry and alcohol in the aftertaste. I agree with some comments here, carbonatation is a little bit high. But in sum... is a lovely beer!!! matt7215 (995), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

Flowery hoppy bouquet with whispers of spice and banana. There is also a yeasty, bread/wheat scent which adds to the intriguing aroma. The taste is wheaty, hoppy and simply wonderful. The end is my favorite part, with a crisp finish that begs for another sip. I remember very my first Chimay Tripel and it was perhaps the first "real" beer I have ever had. It has a special place for me and it remains a personal favorite. bconger (78), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy, bright copper with a monstrous off-white head that dissipates slowly leaving beautiful lacing. Aromas of wheat, muscat, yeast, and a little hops. Very balanced flavor profile. Toasty malts balanced with sharp hops. Fantastic, creamy mouthfeel - the carbonation is perfect for the intensity and the ABV of this beer. I love it! cyrenaica (440), Milton, Ontario, Canada

I tried this beer on September 13, 2007 at ’Smokeless Joe’s’ in Toronto. The beer poured hazy brown with a large generous whitish head. The aroma was a combination of malt, and fruits. I was expecting yeast, it was not there. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, crisp, with high carbonation. The flavour was malty with some bread. donfardz64 (435), Wellington, New Zealand
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2008 On tap at the Malthouse. Pours a cloudy deep golden. Big head when served but dissipates to a thin layer which lingers. Stronger aromas than what I remember out of a bottle of citrus and vanilla. A bitter palate with loads of spice and a subtle sweetness. Finishes smoothly with a lingering bitterness. movezig (137), Pensacola, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Goodn’. Pour was cloudy orange/yellow. Smell had light fruits (strong banana and orange) sorta nutty. Flavors the same, banana, orange, citrus, and caramel. All balanced well with the carbonation. Stuff can be difficult to find. Can only get it where I live in the sampler pack with the glass (white glass that is). Borresteijn (1441), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Bottle & tap on multiple occasions @ Café Gollem. Pale amber colour, white head. Aroma of hops and malts, some spices and yeast. Flavour is very malty, but nicely balanced by the hoppy bitterness and a slightly earthy/yeasty taste. Very smooth palate, soft and creamy mouthfeel. There aren’t many flavours in this beer, but the ones present are so well balanced that you have to love this brew. One of the best (if not the best) tripels.
