Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Beautiful orange amber color with a nice head. Tastes of wheat, hops, apricots, raisins... good stuff. My new favorite Trappist style beer.

Incredible apearence! Nice golden yellow colour with a beatiful, creamy, tall, white head with plenty of lacing. Quite good banana/fruit aroma and a nice well balanced flavour to match. The flavour is not quite as fruity or malty as I expected, yet still damn good.

I had this beer the night before Orval and I have to say I liked it a lot better...very smooth with a faint fruit flavor. Champageney.

Poured into a Chimay goblet, a near hazy apple cider color with a high head that is amazingly fluffy and long-lasting. The nose was crisp and sweet with a nutty wheat aroma. Pine, grapefruit, lemon and spicey hops also tingle the nostrils. The taste was a sweet and boozy with lemon, grapefruit and wheat with a nutty oak backbone in the end. The finish was piney and dry with a nice medium feel. The feel was medium to full with active carbonation throughout. This is a strong one at 8.0 abv. However, the alcohol doesn’t take anthing away from it’s flavour or it’s drinkability. Just pace yourself...

Has a peaty, barny, fruity aroma; taste citric/hoppy, yeasty, almost salty with good malt in the background; dry, piney finish. Very nice.

Huge fluffy white that dissipates quite quickly with some lacing. Aroma is sweet and fruity, mostly with some spice. Taste is quite different, very tangy up front. Finishes nicely dry and crisp

Chimay makes gorgeous beers to gaze upon - runways models in a glass with elegant and sunstantial lace and enviable coloring. There are some sweeter, candy leaning tones that disturb me on occassion, but I like the rest of thios beer a lot - very spciy and fun and full of confounding fruits and darker spices, hops breesing steadily in.
