Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Belgian strong aroma. Murky orange in color with large, mostly lasting, frothy, off-white head. Lots of carbonation. My palate had to get used to this brew initially because I had just eaten a piece of birthday cake. Didn’t take long, however. Fairly well balanced though pretty dry. Strong alcohol profile. Some bitterness and some clove notes. A good brew.

On draught-Liar’s Club, San Diego. Beautiful presentation. Opaque orange with lovely and firm white head. the aroma is wonderfully inviting. Spicy aroma. the palate is very lively, keeps it from getting thick on the tongue, also keeps the flavors exciting. Excellent taste. Alcohol is there but it is well matched, and disguised, by the spices and slight fruitiness that also come through. I need to drink more of this beer, just not on tap, it is a little too pricey for me in the bars.

Although this ale has a higher ABV than the Chimay Rouge, it is a much less complex and therefore a more drinkable ale. Very little malt, more hops, fruit flavors of peach/raisons and some spice. Very drinkable.

7/01:750ml:Medium strentghed cork removal.Deep, hazy, golden with a bubbly, fizzy white head.Pefectly creamy and retition.Fruity, hoppy, yeasty aroma are terribly inviting,to me.The softest, velvety palate, was incredible.Made this extremely drinkable.Flavor are round and balanced and compliment the aroma well.Lightly sweet and malty with a big fruity, slightly dry, finish.Cork bottles seem more consistent.I will stick with them from now on.

This beer rocks. The hazy color of apricot nectar (my wife’s assessment). As with most Belgian ales, the nose hints of a skunk about 300 yards away...downwind. Also, a very fruity aroma. A very crisp, clean, spicy flavor with a dry, effervesant finish. Yum.

Thick, dense, off-white head atop a hazy, amber body. This beer displays excellent head retention and produces the definition of lacing. Bubble gum sweetness in the aroma with a bit of corinader spiciness. The flavor is a very smooth maltiness, with coriander and decent hops in the finish. A bit of sweetness lingers on the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is superb, very rich and satisfying.

This was a great beer, but not as good as the Chimay Bleu. Spice and fruit aroma abound. Cloudy brown in color. Tastes of apples but seems sort of dry, especially during the aftertaste. Great beer, nonetheless. Highly recommended.
