Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Another well done Ale. Still prefer the red. But I’m special in that way.

Nothing wrong with this brew at all... the hints of spice and citrus are quite wonderful, and the appearance is just gorgeous... a reddish orange on top that submits to a more golden orange towards the bottom... bubbling at all points during my drinking experience. Citrus and spice are all I can really say about this brew with a great hoppy finish... great beer

what a great beer! only available at one bar here in Iceland so this is not my everyday beer. What a aroma! and the taste, very complex, unique and this just melts in your mouth.

750 mL bottle in a tulip glass. Pours an oversized forthy head, in which even the foam has an alcoholic taste, and a pleasant hop note to the smell. A golden hazy body. Once I get past the foam, I find a slight lactic tang among citrus notes and the mouthfeel of a Squirt soda. A delicate, balanced bitterness and the hint of orange peel at the end. It’s just great for relaxing to in the recliner.

A local cigar bar just got this on tap served in the Chimay glass, so I had to try it even though the $12 was way steep for Chimay. One of my favorite Tripels, it had a spicy aroma and a beautiful pale orange with a fluffy head. Yeasty flavor of fresh bread and figs, not as complex as the Blue but darn good.

Finally get around to rating this one. In the past I was unimpressed with drafts served at Monks. This rating is for the small bottle (with dinner at Azure). Benchmark tripel: richer and fuller body than Golden Monkey and Fin du Monde; lighter on the spice; and malt, yeast, hop and spice flavors are all much mellower and blended than GM and FdM.

straw colored with a great fluffy head--great retention and structure. Nose is lively with esters of banana, pepper, clove and cinnamon. Good mouthfeel. Great beer!

Really very nice. A great Tripel. You can’t really compare the main Chimay’s although I’m tempted to. The Blanche is excellent on its own.
