Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Golden-orange body with considerable carbonation and a massive frothy white head. Fantastic quality of esters in the aroma: bubble gum, banana, and strawberry. Also orange citrus, yeast, baking soda, hay, and barnyard. Has the Chimay signature aroma that's hard to pinpoint verbally. Fruit peel bitterness, pepper, and flowers in the flavor. Tingly but smooth feel. The smoothest and most drinkable of the Chimay brews. It melts in your mouth. Complex for sure but not in the Chimay Bleu range.

Chimay Blue is my favorite but this is still one damn fine ale. The Monks that thought about making these ales and cheese are great. If it wasn’t for the lack of women I’d love to be a monk at this Abbey. But then again they throw me out.

Just have to up the numbers on this one a bit, I forgot how much of a ’sour apple’ presence this one has. 8/17/02: This is my favorite Chimay ale. Deep golden. A little spice, citrus and raisin notes. Smooth mouthfeel and balance is superb for this tripel. Excellent Trappist ale!

This is good stuff! My favorite Chimay. Huge musty, yeasty flavor/aroma, backed up by a great hoppiness. Smooth in the mouth, followed up by a satisfying bitterness. Addendum -- I had this beer on tap. I do not recall it being quite as nice from the bottle, but ymmv.

Hazy orange color, and a nice fluffy white head, simply gorgeous. Some spices and maybe bananna in the aroma. Taste was wonderful. Spicey and peppery, and a bitter finish. Excellent.

A beautiful sight in the bour, golden and arimatic, with very vibrant carbonation, that is especially entertaining to watch it disperse the yeast throughout. Creamy fizzy head, that lasts and lasts throughout the drink. A faint echo of hops is present, with a floral fruity bouquet that is very refreshing. Very pleasant on the palette, from the flavor and the aroma.

Sampled at Toronado. One of the best tripels I’ve had so far. Has a cloudy golden appearance. Lots of fruits and spices like all Belgian ales have and very smooth and sweet finish.
