Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Pours hazy with golden colour. A large creamy head. A bit sour, slightly yeasty and fruity bouquet. Taste is a fascinating combination of sweet and sour elements. Flowery and fruity notes, some citrus and mildly yeast. Quite a lot of hops. Leaves a bit dry mouthfeel, just the kind that makes you want more.

One of the best trippels I have had. It poured a nice light amber color with a huge head. Lacing was lovely. Next best Chimay next to the Grande Reserve.

Very nice tripel, and widely avialable. Hazy amber color, smells of fruit, bananas, and other citrus. Very good combination of hops, spices, and yeast. Nice, fairly bitter finish.

Draught at Q-Brick in Osaka. Very good hops, for both aroma and bitterness. Big, long bitter finish. Yeasty, fruity nose, with biscuity malt. Smooth, full, and mellow flavor with a touch of creaminess. Lovely, with better hops than the bottled version.

Bottle. Hop -slight fruit aroma. Golden Haze body with tall fluffy head. Nice balance of hops, banana, wheat and spice... Dry finish with a slight bitter aftertaste... very easy to drink and enjoyable

Tap at PIB. Pours a lovely orange with yellow highlights and a tight white head. Aroma full of yeast, coriander, honey. Flavor is very spicy, coriander and pepper and some yeast and light honey. Has a nice snap to it that I very much enjoy. Would love to do side by sides of the three Chimay beers someday.

Corked 750ml bottle into Trappist glass. A hazy orange ale with an ample dense off white head. Generous aromas of spicy hops and roasted nutty caramel malts with a hint of oranges. Medium-full mouthfeel with tastes of honey malts, citrus and nutmeg at first but finishes with a resinous dry bitterness that lingers. Very well integrated flavours and dangerously seductive given the ABV. Top class.

This is a very good beer. Pours a nice dark yellow, and tastes as good as its aroma suggests. This one is actually worth drinking from the recommended glass, because it will bring out all the flavor and appearance. Try it.
