Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Beautiful bronze color with a white frothy head and HUGE amounts of gasses. Smells of yeast, honey and fruit. Crisp. soft and veryhoppy with a warming and spicy with a very hoppy longlasting dry finish.

Pours a lovely golden color. Huge rocky head. Very pillowy. Smells like most belgian beers, very balanced yet sweet smelling. Mouthfeel is nice. Very airy and tingly. I like it. Can taste a heavy alcohol presence. Also a nice hoppy finish. Great beer.

Slightly hazy orange, with a beautiful sustaining head. Complex yet still quite refreshing. Bananas, fruit and spice/pepper. Bitter finish. Probably my favourite Chimay.

A Pale gold color and a big white head. Some lacing. Yeast with a nice bit of floral with just a hint of wheat . Malty, yeast, clove and phenols, are all present. Average bitterness taste before the alcohol kicks Triple alcohol finish that warms you up and sticks with you. I think that this beer has a conservative and well crafted body in a triple. Very good brew and readily available. Always a good choice.

[Bottle, February 2007] Pours a beautiful burnished copper color that is quite fizzy. Head is medium and airy. Aroma is citrus, lemon, slight orange. Mouthfeel is fizzy and crisp. Flavor is citrusy - lemon, orange peel, and oak. Finish is crisp a slightly bitter with notes of lemon and citrus.

This is a very good beer. Pours a nice dark yellow, and tastes as good as its aroma suggests. This one is actually worth drinking from the recommended glass, because it will bring out all the flavor and appearance. Try it.
