Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

On tap at the freakin frog las vegas. This stuff is heavenly, but I suppose that’s just a matter of my opinion. The aroma of this stuff is wonderful, must be served in proper glassware. Apparently Rosemary’s here in town has it too with other rare beers, but I’ve yet to give that a try. If you can find it on tap, go for it and go broke. Of course, it’s one of my all time favorites..

Since NC popped the 6% limit on high gravity beers, there have been some new arrivals in town. I had a Chimay Trippel on tap at Hannah Flannigan’s in Asheville, served in the proper glass, not too cold. Aroma of concord grapes and apples it looked like a fine honey colored champagne. I am sure this keg was fresh from Belgium, I have had no better trippel in years, save Kasteel, but the rating goes up due to it’s draftyness.

Orange with big, foamy off-white head / Light, fragrant nose of banana, yeast, and spice / Medium body, crisp and lively, but with good malts underneath and excellent, bitter finish / Flavors of banana, orange, apple, clove, and coriander / Pretty much a textbook tripel.

Excellent balance in fruitiness, esters, alcohol. Just simply one of the very best. My goal for homebrewing.

For me one of teh best beers ! Cloudy dark golden color. Nose of fruit, yeast and hops. Taste fruits with raisins and some alcohol. Good in balance.

Presentation: It was poured from a stubby brown 11.2oz bottle into a signature Chimay chalice that came with the gift set. Appearance: It has a slightly hazy, peachy golden colored body with a thick, heavenly, white and foamy head. It is supported by an active carbonation and it very slowly recedes to a much thinner creamy layer of foam that leaves behind sticky white lacing. Smell: The aroma has delicate fruity character with dry yeast notes and a just a hint of medicinal phenols and hops in the distance. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor has mellow fruity notes of Muscat, golden raison and apple mixing with pale malted grain and dry earthy yeast. Hop flavor is mild but adds a mild slash of herbal spice and mellow bitterness. Its 8%abv is well hidden but adds to the overall complexity and smooth rounded mouth feel. It finishes with some light phenol flavors and mild spicy hops fading off the tongue. Its texture has perfect carbonation and a nice rounded feel with a medium body that is very drinkable and sophisticated. Notes: I love Trappist beers and this is an absolute joy to drink. Monks Rock!!!

Very good. well balanced with some fruit up front and a hoppy finish. I think this is one of the better tripples.

my personal favorite of the chimay line. one of my favorite beers of all time. with that said. it pours a murky, cloudy orange with an off white head. smells of various belgian yeasts, fresh citrus fruits and a hint of hops. taste is almost identical to the smell, yeasty, very citrusy fruity and a strong hop taste with a swallow of a slight bitterness. smooth and delicious!!
