Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

In my opinion this is the 'worst' Chimay. Offcourse it's still an excellent beer. Good spicy taste
#Rerate (april 12, 2004) Aged. Apple and yeast in aroma. Malty, sweet and full. Lacks fruitiness compared to the chimay speciale. The Speciale is certainly better for aging purposes.

What did I learn? Never be a cheap fuc#*ing bastard when it comes to tasty beers that you never see on tap! I tasted some of my friend's blanche on tap but didn't buy my own glass of it. And I've been thinking about it ever since. It was incredible compared to the bottled version. Wonderful fruity aroma with a light citrusness and a bit of alcohol. Sweet and fruity with a light spicy aftertaste and some bitterness. Fizzy and highly carbonated with a light body. Some alcohol in the aftertaste. Much better on tap.

Very pleasurable to drink. Very smooth as expected from Chimay, although its astringency gives it a little sting. Something about the mouthfeel bothers me a bit, possibly a little greasy? (diacetyl?) Anyway, it is a good brew.

Light amber with a thick white head. Yeasty and malty aroma; almost wheaty. Also, alcoholic on the aroma. Very carbonated, light bodied, malty finishing with a mild bitterness. Surprisingly smooth.

This is a very nice beer, it took me a while to figure it out. It has large head lasting long time, some fruits and spices, a little sour with a some bitterness in the aftertaste, nice but i prefer the blue :)

Pours a cloudy gold with a large foamy white head. Aromas of malt and wheat with a yeasty nose, some hop. Flavor is yeasty, a bit malty and wheaty. Palate is warm and a tad dry.
