Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Wow, what a great taste from beginning to end. It has a light bite buit is remarkably smooth. Raisin flavoring is noticeable and the alcohol certainly hits. Excellent.

Just a gorgeous Tripel. Complex, delicious, beautiful. Chimay's are all they are cracked up to be, for sure. Complex, delicious, and they become more so as they warm.

The "Cinq Cents" was a 750ml bottle of a batch born in 10/2002 according to the cork. It poured with a tall, long-lasting white head with an aroma of pepper and flowers. Oh, the taste is just sublime... complex, floral, with interesting undertones... this is a great beer, and probably my favorite light-hued brew!

Amber color. Plenty of sediment floating throughout. Very pungent. Smells of fruits. Dry bitter flavor, somewhat burnt. Very flavorful beer. Bites you in the sinuses to the back of the throat.

Pretty beer with the typical clean trappist head. This IS a trappist ale that I could enjoy without feeling guily that I was wasting something precious. While it is by no means an everyday drink, it is very easy to drink, and the subtle fruitiness makes it quite pleasant. After having the Blue, I do enjoy the Blanche more.

Make sure to use the right glass!! Enormous white head. Light tan in color. Multitudes of lacing. A relaxing aroma to enlighten your nose. Light bodied with great fruity following. Nice ligering after taste blending the hops and malts. Awsome.

This is my favorite triple. The flavor is much more developed than what most people would be used to tasting what tripels are. Pair this food with anything from chicken dishes, sushi, and pasta! Red meat...... hmmm it could work!! I would suggest the BLUE label first and the RED second. Kind like if you want hot salsa (Blue label) or if you want mild salsa (Red label) with your dish!!
