Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Absolutely fantastic tripel! Best of it’s style i’ve had. I got it on tap from the Yardhouse in Phoenix. the aroma was difficult to distinguish considering the setting, but it was definitely yeast and raisin, and perhaps a bit more. Taste was nice and spicy, with hops, and some cinnamon. Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy. I’ll go back for more and more.

11.2 ounce bottle in Westmalle glass. (Chimay glass isn’t beer-clean.) Hazy golden orange with lasting white head and lace. Lemon yeasty spicy sweet aroma. Mild honey sweetness, fruity apricot orange spice with mild complex tobacco spcy peppry dry finish, some lingering peppery bitterness. Medium body and medium carbo. An absolute classic. Awesome. The only problem with this beer is that it’s too small.

My favorite variety by Chimay...it has a light cloudy appearance, with bubbles flowing upward in a singular stream, with obvious crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet but bitter at the same time, a coating layering itself upon the tongue but then melting away, leaving an aftertaste of grapefruit and candied orange rind. Probably my favorite tripel thus far, I measure all others to it.

Outstanding. Beautiful golden hue, not overly carbonated. Needs to be served slightly chilled to bring out all the flavors. Hints of citrus and a significant yeast flavor, but blends together very nicely. Extremely well balanced, nothing is overpowering. My favorite aspect about this beer is that it is very easy to drink and not overly dense. I feel like I could enjoy a few of these without being slowed down. Very nice weight, and has instantly become my favorite beer.

Definitely my favourite example of the style to date. Terribly smooth with just the right tiny bit of hop bite in it.
