Gregis (904), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Oct 30, 2007 Pours a cloudy gold-brown with a loose, frothy, beige head that laces nicely. The aroma is of yeast, pear, apple, citrus, white grapes, candy sugar and faint alcohol. Medium-bodied and fairly lively with a yeasty dry finish and a touch of alcohol warmth. The flavor is citric and yeasty with spice/pepper layered over raisin and apple. A decent enough tripel, but I was expecting more from this one given Chimay’s reputation. At $4+ for a 33cl bottle, I doubt that I’ll be coming back to this one any time soon.
Palidor19 (1276), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 28, 2008 very good, its has a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness, the its a wheaty and slight yeasty flavor. this is another winner. zvikar (12), , Israel Aug 28, 2008 Hazy golden color with nice white head, fruity aroma with vanilla notes, banana-yeasty flavor, bitter dry finish nqualls (185), Tennessee, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle. Poured a cloudy gold with a large head. Aroma of spice and malt. Flavor of the same. Good beer and the easiest to drink of the three Chimay beers. Caleb1035 (14), , North Carolina, USA Aug 26, 2008 Pours to light golden body with a hazy appearance. Good and slightly bitter taste. Changed (68), Ithaca, New York, USA Aug 26, 2008 11.2 oz bottle, pours hazy golden color with visible sediment floating near the bottle of the bottle. Bottle was chilled, but a large, fluffy head still formed. One word I can use to describe this beer: smooth! Tastes like what Stone Vertical epic ’07 tried to taste like. Fruity/spiced aroma, complex taste of fruits, spice, and slight alcohol upon warming. Goes down very smoothly (too smoothly?). Probably my favorite of the three Chimay’s
