Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Great Belgian triple. I’m a sucker for the style and you all know this one already. More complex than Blue, for me, and when served on tap, hops come through. Beautifully made beer.

I have not had the Chimay white in many years so I ordered one on tap at a local mexican restaurant. Cloudy orange as I remembered with a spicy smell. The flavor was strong bubblegum, hops, really robust with a bit of spice towards the finish. Nice soft mouthfeel and easy to drink. The strength of the flavor was easily the best part about this tripel, nice but I still think the dubbel is their best beer. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 12-25-2009 03:00:23

Had this many times over the years but never rated it. Small bottle. Pours a murky golden with a great deal of carbonation resulting in a thick, pillowy head that diminishes slowly. Aroma is slightly sweet, small zest of lemon and white bread. Taste is doughy with a muted sweetness. Hops ride in at the end to linger well. Still quite effervescent, a flaw that I know diminishes with aging (this is a very young bottle). Overall quite excellent BUT not the legend I remember it as...perhaps I’ve had enough quality tripels now to mark this down a tiny bit from where I would have a few years back. Still very good.

Unbelievably, on tap at the Red Zone bar and grill in Fresno, CA. Hazy straw colored with small head to lace. Nose is nice light Belgian fruity yeast. Taste is same, with a nice background of bitterness. Belgian style sweetness is obvious, but not overpowering. Nice balance. I’m not typically a big Belgian fan, but I liked this one.Too bad the pint was $11.00 instead of the $4.50 all the other brews were.

Thanks Chibbyman. Bronze pour with a white head. Nice carbonation is noticeable during the pour. Aroma of hops, yeast, spices. Flavor is citrusy, coriander, yeasty, hops little bitter.

Hazy white, golden with a decent white head. Sweet, spiced aroma and taste. A bit of dry pineapple and grapes off the hops. Dry finish leaves you thirsting for more.

Pours a hazy gold with a pillowy head that slowly settles down to a thin covering. Aroma is mostly earthy with a slight floral contribution from the hops. Mildly sweet and fruity with a drying finish. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
