Smells tarte and funky, with some hints of sourness. Tastes tarte and slightly vinegary with a residual sugary finish. This reminded me a lot of Rodenbach Redbach. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Sampled during the Autumn Brew Review in Minneapolis, MN. From a 22-oz bomber pours a semi-clear golden amber colored brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of Belgian yeast, some bread and caramel malt, a touch of lemon and clove. Taste is medium bodied, slightly tart with flavors of yeast, some dark pitted fruits and cloves. Finish continues a tart aftertaste with some yeast and caramel malt flavors. Pastor (534), Maine, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Bottle poured into a Chimay challis produced a short lived white head that faded away to nothing. The body was a wonderful ruby red in color.
I would have never guessed this was a sour by the bottle, now the aroma is a different story. It reminded me of a Flemish red with a ton of sour cherries and apples with a splash of wet horse. The brew is rather light in your mouth with light carbonation. The flavors mimic the nose tons of sour fruit cherries and apples.
It was a nice change for me I enjoyed the brew but one glass would be enough at a sitting just like most sours for me. Not a bad brew but not what I expected.

I think it might have just turned out that way, I don’t think it is intentional, or infected by accident. Simple but good flavor, some sour fruit, no trace of hops. jzzbassman (852), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2009 Pours clear amber with a thin white head. Berries, malt, and yeast. Wow, almost a sour.....doubt this was intentional but I actually like the lemon peel tart finish. A bit thin bodied, but overall enjoyable. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a copper color with very little head at all. Aroma of funk, unrefined sugar and some molasses. Biscuit and bread notes dominate the taste, while I didn’t get much in the way of hops at all. A good amount of yeast flavors as well, especially fruits/citrus. A tart finish. Actually a pretty interesting beer that I liked more than some of the other Krebs offerings. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Slight aroma of banana, spice, and a touch of tartness. Pours a clear reddish-amber, with just a dusting and ring of white foam. Tart flavor, reminiscent of green apples. Not bad, but don’t go into this expecting an amber. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 30, 2008 The pour was dark amber in color and the head was short, almost nonexistent. No lacing. The aroma was slightly tart, slightly funky and yeasty. The flavor was tart fruit, funk and yeast with malt cutting through. The mouthfeel was decent but towards the end this thing seemed to lose steam. It took on an unattractive, dirty water feel at the end.
