The aroma is strong with complex spices of clove, nutmeg and allspice, there is also a fair bit of mixed fruits and distinctly Belgian style yeast. The taste is rich with banana, nutmeg, clove, almonds, pecans, and a bit of sweet toffee. The palate was thinner than I would have preferred, the carbonation lively. Finishes long with lingering sweet cloves. Overall: I think that this is a very good dubbel, one of the better US efforts, even my wife likes it. Thanks John. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2009 [Bottle] Pours a copper color with plenty of white foam on top. Aroma of candi sugars, yeast and light fruits. An apple flavor really came out in the taste. Some light brown sugar, citrus and honey in the taste as well. Seemed a little hot, with the alcohol coming out in the finish. It seems like this beer could probably use some aging. SudsMcDuff (1736), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Cloudy reddish pour, big head, lots of lace, yum. Fragrant, sweet aroma. Fizzy, lots of deep caramel and some fruits. The 8% alcohol shows up in the aftertaste. Thick and phlegmy with a sugary, candy tone. Tasty but a little dry on the end for my taste.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2009 Bottle, courtesy kiefdog. Very murky caramel color, fizzy white head, thin lacing. Apple cider nose, pear, some heat, slight sweet malt. Some dark fruit flavors, nice chocolate and caramel, sweet bright apples in the finish. Medium-bodied, smooth and tasty, heat is noticeable in the nose and virtually absent in the flavor. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 5, 2009 Hazy and very bubbly orangish-hued coper coloured body with a VERY dense tan head that leaves a nice lace on the glass! Aroma of an odd yeast, eggs, grass, hops and a very potent malt scent. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malt tucked in with very bright sugars, some alcohol and a lot of citrus and unfinished flavours. Aftertaste shows a very young beer with not much complexity but plenty of alcohol and sugars. Overall, a nice beer - not absolutely amazing, but a good beer to make from a local Oklahoman brewery. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased earlier today from Freeman’s in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma sampled in downtown OKC on 05-May-2009. Sammy (4068), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Looks, smells, tastes more or less, as a dubbel. Appearance of amber -golden body with some white head of yeast, and tads of lace. Medium plus mouthfeel, creamy. Smells double Belgian yeast, you know. Taste was hasher in first half of body. A spot-on dubbel, though harsher, aggressive on palate really, at least at first, than I would have thought. A - pours a red, coppery colorand has quite a bit of carbonation
S - I got the traditional dubbel belgian yeasty nose off of this one and seem to be headin gin the right direction
T - I get the spice of the belgium yeast up front and this sweetness pours over my palate like a candy coating of sugar.
A diabetic’s nightmare.
Drinkability - this was not a bad dubbel, its was a descent one. Too sweet for my taste I am glad I got to try it.
