Commercial Description:
The Belgian-style Dubbel is a beer style crafted by and made famous by the Trappist Monks of Belgium. Our version is deep ruby red and malty with just enough phenols and esters from the Belgian yeast to bring the complex flavors from a beer of this style into balance. We hope you enjoy Brewmasters Signature Series beer #2, feel free to share your thoughts about this beer at www.chocbeer.com Beers, Michael Lalli

Thanks kiefdog for bringing a new state rating for most of us to the weekly tasting. Pours deep hazy copper with gold edges and thin dark tan head. The aroma is sweet, dark fruity and becoming sweeter with caramel and brown sugar. The taste has brown sugar and some dark fruitiness to start. By midway I get notes of caramel and a sense of alcohol into the finish with fading dark fruitiness.

Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Pours a hazy amber color with a one finger white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of vanilla, light roasted malts, brown sugar, ripe dark fruit, alcohol. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of brown sugar, ripe dark fruit, caramel, honey. Generally medium body with a malty finish. Seemed a little thin for the style.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. A Belgian Dubbel from the Sooner state. You can take the beer from Oklahoma, but, nevermind... Pours hazy red-brown with an off-white head. Nose is malt, raisin, some caramel, and some alcohol. Flavor is malt, caramel, alcohol, and lingering sweetness. Not a bad light-medium bodied dubbel.

Bottle shared by Ken at tasting. Thanks! Pours a light brownish color with short lived offwhite head. Smell is sweet, malty raisins and caramel. Taste is the same with a light sweetness, and thinnish body with a caramelized raisin flavor. A bit bubbly and champagne like, but not overly carbonated, yet. Not the most complex, or full flavored, but still very drinkable.

Hazy brown-amber with not much head. Thin fruity apple nose, mostly apples and brown sugar with a little malt. Thin mouthfeel is prickly. Very sweet with lots of apple juice flavors. Not very good, but not very bad, just an exercise in mediocrity.
