| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Amber. Flat. Light berryish aroma is also a bit bubblegummy. Highly carbonated with a footy, dusty yeast character that is unbecoming to a dubbel. There’s a touch of band-aid phenol late. The malt character is lacking and there is none of the dark fruit richness you’d want to see in a dubbel. I found nothing to recommend here. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of raisins, caramel, light banana, and apple. Flavor of raisins, caramel, apple, yeast, and dates with light metallic in the finish. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

Looks, smells, tastes more or less, as a dubbel. Appearance of amber -golden body with some white head of yeast, and tads of lace. Medium plus mouthfeel, creamy. Smells double Belgian yeast, you know. Taste was hasher in first half of body. A spot-on dubbel, though harsher, aggressive on palate really, at least at first, than I would have thought. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Bomber from ericandersnavy. Pours orange/brown with a 2finger tan head. Nose is sweet and malty. Taste is sweet and malty and all in all surprisingly better than I expected. daknole (3023), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Bottle from ericandersnavy. Damn this isn’t too good. Oklahoma and Belgian style beers don’t mix. Brown/mahogany color wtih no real head. Aroma is bland with some malt, yeast and lemons. Flavor is putrid to be honest. Combine apple juice and michelob and this is the beer you get. Wow. BMan1113VR (2940), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a small, off-white head and a clear amber body. Aroma is fruity with chocolate, light banana esters and wheat. Taste is apple, candi sugar, and the sugary green apple taste you get from unfinished beer (acetaldehyde). Fizzy-ish mouthfeel and watery. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Thanks kiefdog for bringing a new state rating for most of us to the weekly tasting. Pours deep hazy copper with gold edges and thin dark tan head. The aroma is sweet, dark fruity and becoming sweeter with caramel and brown sugar. The taste has brown sugar and some dark fruitiness to start. By midway I get notes of caramel and a sense of alcohol into the finish with fading dark fruitiness.
