mbuisman79 (138), Amsterdam, Netherlands Oct 24, 2009 Not too impressed with this one. Quite light and watery. Had better years of this one, the nice cherry flavor is still there, but there’s a sour, almost red ale hint to it. JanEric (172), Meppel, Netherlands Oct 24, 2009 bottle, 75 cl. Brown cloured, off-white head, reasonably dense and large. Aromas of candy, coffee, molasses, caramel. Tastes smooth, sweet, slightly bitter, average bok. OleR (2027), Oslo, Norway Oct 5, 2009 From tap@de Sluyswacht, Amsterdam. A low yellowish head resting on a bright, reddish-brown body. Discreet malt aroma, dry and clean though. Faint caramel and a certain fruitiness. Taste is dryish malty. Fruit and pepper tones. Noticable dusty and papery hop bitterness. Medium to light-bodied. Dry and powdery in the mouth. Dry malty, faintly hop bitter ending. An unusual Bock that goes well down. DKthe13 (52), Netherlands Sep 7, 2009 Tasted 75cl. Amber bock from Achouffe, with a dry nose which contains a little caramell and spices. Clear, simple (small hopped) taste with a slighty dry finish. Not the best beer of Chouffe. pivnizub (4974), Bochum, Porúří, Germany Jul 25, 2009 Bottle (0.75l): Amber coloured, clear, big stable off-white foamy head; solid sugary-caramelly nose; robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; increasing bitterness in the toffee-like finish. O.K., a not very complex brew......... MoritzF (4911), Bochum, Germany Jul 22, 2009 (75cl bottle, 6.66% abv) Hazy, amber colour with a thick and slowly lacing off-white foamy head. Sweet and toasty malty, slightly fruity aroma with notes of caramel, candy sugar and spicy elements. Moderately bitter flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Solid toast-malty base with caramel/toffee and buttery flavours, accompanied by very subtle fruity and spicy elements. Bitter-sweet malt-accented and slightly hoppy finish (22.VII.09). fata2683 (858), Panama City, Florida, USA May 24, 2009 bottle, pours light amber with a tall off white head. Carmel malt aroma. Malty body ends with an awkward penny in the mouth metalic finish. Mildly bitter. tomer (365), Rishon Le Zion, Israel May 20, 2009 At a tasting, thanks DSG. Big head with big bubbles that stays for quite a while, lots of carbonation, clear light coppery colour, aroma of mushroom, stale bread and honey wax. Light malty flavour with a strange bitter sour sensation. Overall a fairly light bodied beer, i expected something with a bigger body and personality.
