"Best before end 2002" So that means....it might be a tad old. Well, at least I found it out atop a shelf infront of a neon sign, where it was physically warm from the heat. I’m sure that means its just got more character. So, it this rating is more negative than usual, the blame the conditions it was in and the age. If the rating leans more towards the good, then it must be a hearty beer. So, here goes: Decent pour, light on the head and a brown/red boy. Aroma is light grassy malt smell, light spice, and a bit of brwon sugar and caramel. The taste has diminished some I suspect, but is still quality. It is far from bold, but remains balanced and enjoyable. THe bottle says on the back to enjoy it as a "refreshing springtime ale." Which makes it clear that this is a winter bock beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Dark reddish with a lovely, rich head. Spiced sweetness with a discreet, hoppy finish. Malty and full-bodied, some overripe fruit in there too. Interesting and quite unusual as Bocks are terribly rare in Belgium. The back label contains a weird story about flying goats over The Niagara Falls - don’t ask me any further... According to the label this is 6,666% ABV 181297

(draft 2002 vintage) A nice reddish-brown. Had a fruit component that wasn’t the apples I’m used to from Belgians. I’m going to call the flavor a mix of cherries and beets. Not too bad, but not worth a second glass.

2001 bottle. Pours a firm head. Apple and cinnamon aroma and flavor. Just a bit of raisin. Rather thin. Bitter aftertaste with blackcurrant and just a touch of roasted malt. Still a lively beer, but I think this one is somewhat over the hill.

Hazy brown ale with a thick light moka head and floaties. Sweet malt, coriander, candy sugar, orange peels and allspice in aroma, with fruity peach notes. Sweet but restrained, very gentle and flowing (toute en douceur). Light malts and spices. Nice hops and spices in finsih. Bottle dated best before end of 2002! And it is good! Merci les boyz!

Muddy dark amber color with a thin head. Complex aroma of malt, spices, caramel, sugar or something sweet, alcohol and fruit. Complex flavor of malt, fruit, spices and something sweet and spicy maybe peppermint. Medium body, smooth, confortable texture, lively carbonation. Amazing stuff, too bad they don’t brew it anymore.

Oranges, peaches, cloves, pepper, allspice, coriander, peppermint, light alcohol, icing sugar sweetness intermingled with a honey-like muskiness in the complex, malty and attractive, distinctly spicy aroma. Opaque copper-brown with a finger of dense off-white head that lasts throughout and laces fairly well. Spiciness features in the flavour with a sugary sweetness and tangerine fruitiness. Medium-light body and very soft carbonation that just lightly engages the tongue. Bottle (best before end 2002) enjoyed with beerbuzzmontreal, lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere.

Dark beautiful cloudy brownish copper strewn with yeast particles and feeding a big foamy beige head that recedes to a thick stable cover. Delicious malty aroma, desserty sweet in its spice/fruit blend. A french brioche sweetish yeast makes for the most cake reminiscent flavors. Peach soap like with lemony tart profile. Tastes like a spiced pie crust though quite bockish at that. Surprisingly light palate deploys an airy texture which initially doesn’t bite, but foams up on the way home. I assume it lost some palate over the years as it had those thinning finish characteristics.
