The Lure: Diligent minty and sweet spices with intelligent brown sugar and candied figs. Peaches ground the malty and spicy sweetness while propelling them to stardom.
The Festivities: Farm-bred dusty oranges still wearing the earth they rose from. A complex, herbal and sweet spiciness resides within the big-bubbled effervescence.
Transcendence: What a marvelous greenhouse there is at the back of this ruddy dwelling. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Poured with a huge and long lasting frothy, light brown head. the body is a very dark mohogany that is too cloudy to see through. The aroma that I initially noticed was fresh grapes. It also has notes of butter, peaches and herbs. The rich mouthfeel is absolutely exploding with fruity tastes. It has some apple, raisin and even some carrots. The taste also has spices like ginger, thyme and other herbs. This is a very unique beer that makes me enjoy the fall theme. It is a little too sweet and thin in it’s mouthfeel. For a bock it is fruity and less malty than I would have expected. Otherwise this is a very friendly drink that I would not hesitate to suggest to anyone looking for something different. Also, you should read the entertaining story on the back of the bottle. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA

Sweet malt, earthy, some spicy thyme in the nose. Big heavily spiced flavor, bitter with a lingering sweet aged beer maltiness. Aroma opens up more as it breathes and the thyme is more promounced with some slight suggestions of orange. Fun, unique beer, but a little thin. cb (809), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Plum and vanilla aroma. Body is mainly comprised of malty grape notes. Not much of note, thinner than I was expecting. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Burnished brass. Broken, yet thick-edged, dusty-white foam. Peaty, earthy malt aroma highlighted by a minimal level of oxidation and perfume. Concealed plum, date, toffee, and cherry pit essences. Thin, lackluster body. Soft, fuzzy carbonation. Sweet malt jumpstart chases away some of the initial sweetness before it picks up notes of almond extract and cherry. Becomes firmer at the center amid a trail of tea leaves, fruitcake and peat. Abbreviated, wet finish, mostly comprised of semi-sweet malts and restrained leafy bitterness. Interesting and stylish, but other than the tasty peat notes, there’s very little depth to speak of.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2004 Bottle pours a muddy dark tan with a milky white head.   Adequate lacing, little carbonation.   Aroma of light fig/dates with some spices.   Taste is a little earthy, dusty, as well as the typical belgian yeast.   Spritzy mouthfeel, good for burps thats for sure.   Finish is again very earthy.   Odd how the Belgian Bock beers seem to always be somewhat earthy (Leute Bokbier in mind).   Overall, decent.

The body of this beer was carbonated and hazy with a brown hue. The aroma was malty, sweet, banana, and spices. The flavor was sweet, malty, spicy, alcohol tasting and a little smokey flavoring. The mouthfeel was smooth. This was a medium bodied beer with sparse lacing. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 1, 2004 This bottled brew poured a very large head of foamy fine to medium sized off white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a poor lacing. The body was a carbonated slightly hazy brown color and the aroma was malty and a bit musty. The mouth feel was smooth with a mild tingle and was well blended for an overall great drinking experience. The flavor was slightly vinuous for a 6.5% beer and contained notes of brown malts and mild spices with a bit of clove.
