Has a nice aroma: fruity with hops. Smooth taste: sweet with citrus... mild bitter aftertaste. I liked it a lot: smooth with medium complexity that I thought was balanced enough. Without a doubt the best IPA I have had. Would buy again. Does Belgium make a bad beer??? LadySusan (474), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 16, 2009 The belgian style really overpowers the hops. I like it but Anna and Guillermo have a strong preference for the Gouden Carolous Hopsinjoor. Very mild hop aroma and smooth flavor. I pop the top and pour a glass into a cold pint glass. the first thing I notice is the slightly skunky-fruit essence coming off the poured beer. the appearence is a cloudy yellow reminiscent of a fine belgium tripel. upon sipping, the first thing I notice is the slightly watery mouth feel this ale posses in comparison to many ales with an OG of 1092.
the palate is imediately very dry and clean, with a nice rounded out after flavor of citrusy hops. the sweetness of the beer then showed up right about the time the hops hit the palate.
I put down the glass after a nice sized gulp and the first thing I notice is the nice and foamy lacing left after each sip. once the beer is finished, your glass will have a nice set of rings left over, very pretty.
the flavor left on the back of my palate is very sweet and hoppy and is very citrusy.
truely a beer that shows the rich tradition of brewing Belgium has. I liked it so much, I brewed NB’s clone just to have a simular beer around when the time is right.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2009 After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a thick golden color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a fruity touch. This beer smells fruity. SpencerDB (34), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Poured a rich, thick head that just exploded with an excellent aroma. Cirtus, hoppy, and full bodied. Just absolutely delicious. Because of the lasting head, the beer retained the great aroma throughout. Some spicy and malty notes, but the hops were the main element you can notice. Cheers.
