Flot tæt skum på en orange øl. Krydret duft af trippel. Ikke så megen humle som forventet, men stadig fantastisk. Frisk velafbalanceret øl. Super. walrussell (94), , Illinois, USA Jun 20, 2009 My favorite beer that I’ve tried so far. A combination of my two favorite styles - IPA and Belgian - and done so freakin well. Tastes like pears, raisins, hops, grapefruit. Great head. djd07 (724), Houston, Texas, USA Jun 15, 2009 On tap at flying saucer. Has a cloudy yellow with a medium frothy white head that leaves behind good sticky lacing. The aroma is a light fruity malt clove and banana. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt taste with citrus and clove with a dry finish. A good tripel from moorgat. mesperon (133), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2009 Hazy gold with thick dense head. Full mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Aroma is very herby, almost medicinal. Just a bit of grapefruit. Flavor gets a lot of the grapefruit, lots of citrus, lots of yeast character, but not enough of the hops to match most IPA’s. Slightly bitter aftertaste, not a lot of longevity. This is s delicious beer, easy drinking, and very interesting. jaghana (95), Strasbourg, France Jun 13, 2009 Bouteille 75cl. Très belle bière belle mousse. Le parfum est superbe, l’arôme n’est pas en reste avec un bon corps et un longueur en bouche. Cela rappelle la Duvel mais plus sucré et bien plus fort en flaveurs. Très bonne expérience. TaxiDriver (908), Stadland, Germany Jun 13, 2009 Bottle. The IPA Tripel smells nice, very hoppy and some sweet brown sugar, later on it gets a little bit more alcoholic. The head is large, white and creamy-foamy with a long duration. The body is clear and pale yellow. The taste is bitter, some citrus, the finish is even more bitter. The body is creamy, medium strong with a lively carbonation. Newcastle123 (2), Illinois, USA does not count Jun 13, 2009 Initially, I was skeptical: a Double IPA Tripel? A Belgian-American bastard child no doubt. But this beer pleasantly surprised me.
Pours a firm, rocky head, with lacing.
Brewed with North America’s Amarillo and Tomahawk hops, combined with the nobel Czech Saaz, these three hops mellow and soften through aging, yielding wonderful flavor and aroma of flowers, spices, and pilsner malt. . The malt backbone is present, with Pilsner and toasty pale ale malt character still detectable through the cloud of hop flavor. It features a characteristically Belgian dry, highly-carbed effervescent finish, with a hoppy twist.
A must try for hop-heads and Belgian aficionados alike.
