Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is hoppy snd citrus. Taste is light fruit and hops, not over the top, but very nice.

On tap at Paramount Room, Chicago. Hazed golden blonde, almost glowing, thick white foam. Beautiful aroma of flowers, hops, citrus. Nice light citrus fruit, followed by hops followed by light bubblegum/cotton candy sweetness followed by more medium hoppiness. All hiding the alcohol behind it.

courtesy of Toni Flükiger - hazy golden-blond colour with a bright and firm white foam; solid fruity hoppiness (grapefruit and apple), citrus and esters; medium to full malt body, quite sweet with a late bitterness; long aromatic bitter fruity finish - a very nice beer; refreshing and lively; the missing link between IPA’s and tripels

751ml bomber Pours a hazy orange and strong head that hangs on for the long haul. A great blend of flowery hops and Belgian yeast. Light mouthfeel but you know it’s got a bit of a kick. Very drinkable and I like this beer a lot.

Slightly hazy golden color that you can’t see through. Thick foamy head that dissipates after a few minutes but clings to the glass. Nose is lemon and grapes with a touch of earthy hops. Sweet malty taste at first followed by sparkling carbonation on the tongue and then a saaz hop bitterness. Finish is a transition from the hops back to the sweet malt.

Excellent beer. "IPA" is a bit of a stretch but it is hoppy for a tripel. Hazy golden color with white foamy head. The hops plus Belgian yeast and sweet pale malt work well together. Nice medium body and dry finish. The tripel/IPA combo I’d like to see more Belgian brewers attempt.

750 ml bottle. This one was a gusher. Light yellow with tons of floaties. A good amount of lacing. Large, fluffy white head. Flavor is of grassy hops. Dry finish with some pepper.

750 in weizen glass. Fully chilled bottle foamed over gently upon opening. Cloudy pale with immense, pillowy, lasting head. Easily the most chunky, turbid commercial, *or homebrewed*, beer I’ve come across with lots of floaty bits. Grass, bubblegum, pepper, and grape nose. Flavor is of a nicely balanced tripel with some more resin on the finish, which plays off the sweetness well. This is a great beer, but definitely not for the easily off-put.
