Pours with substantial white head and yeast cloudiness. Has faint aroma of hops and yeast. A bit overcarbed and almost watery over the tongue. It has good flavor, but not full and robust. Worth a try and would make a good bridge to the moderate beer drinker. brigg (214), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 23, 2009 (750 mL bottle) Big creamy white head, and a cloudy golden-orange body. Lots of thick lace on the glass. Aroma is sweet with banana, yeast, light floral hops, and spice. Same fruity banana, yeast, and spice in the flavor, but quite dry. Has the tripel character, but more hoppy. Medium to full-bodied. This beer suites me very well at the moment as I always love tripels, but have been on an IPA kick lately. Pours a cloudy amber with a thick, off-white head that lasts forever. Aroma is very hoppy as well as a lot of grapefruit and florals. Flavor is mostly bitter grapefruit and yeast as well as a bit of alcohol. A lot of carbonation in the mouthfeel, nice warming feel. I like this alot...very balanced. I love this style, I didnt enjoy this quite as much as the Green Flash Le Freak. bretupdegraff (172), Fishers, Indiana, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Cloudy yellow with a ridiculous head. I can look at this beer for a very long time. I suppose I can smell it for a while too, I love the doughy yeast aroma. Dry mouthfeel, nice bitterness and alcohol mixed with spices. Looonnnggg finish with a great alcohol bite. I can drink a lot of this beer. I love that damn little gnome, he can pick ’em. mrant (330), New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Smells of astrigent, grassy hops. Pours a nice hazy orange/yellow with a monstrous fizzy white head. Taste is very unique: strong up front of boozey, rubbing-alcohol-type flavor, giving way to a pleasant hop sourness, though without the citrus flavor. Very complex and flavorful. Tasty and very different. GardenGabe (125), Denver, Colorado, USA

Very light golden color slightly hazy. The nose has some grapefruit, lemon and lime, sweet, and hoppy, also banana, peach and pear.Basically a complicated beer. The taste is sweet with a somewhat hoppy finish. Bubble gum, candy sugar, and exotic fruits flavor this tingly concoction. Delightful! Bartzilla (443), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Are you kidding me? I haven’t rated this yet? Hm. OK, here it goes. Take the best of a West Coast IPA and mix it with a delicious Belgian tripel. I mean, that’s pretty much it. It’s delicious and, by far, my favorite Chouffe offering. Very distinct taste and created a killer souffle head upon pour. Had this in bottle, on tap and on tap in Belgium, so I’ve run the gambit from fresh to shelf on this one. Lots of breweries are doing the Blegian IPA thing these days, but this sets the benchmark. Great ale.
