Petrucci914 (574), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Nov 24, 2007 Updated: Feb 22, 2008Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a thick pillowy head. Aroma is hoppy and citrus (orange zest). Taste is more tripel, with the citrus and maltyness. Finishes rather bitter and hoppy. Don’t see the excitement everyone else is. Steib (574), Queen Creek, Arizona, USA Nov 24, 2007 Huge slow diminishing head with a light to darkish straw color. Very aromatic hop aroma . Sweet then to dry creamy mouthfeel. Bold yet very drinkable. Very nice and light bitterness until the end. Just a nice beer that starts off good and finishes strong. kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Nov 23, 2007 (bottle) Very pale gold with generous white head. Faint hops aroma along with slightly sweet malt. Flavor is more tripel - malty/fruity, dry. I didn’t notice the hops much. JLAudio (282), Crestwood, Illinois, USA Nov 22, 2007 Actually tried this against Dreadnaught at a beer tasting event a few months back. From my notes I noticed that it had a very nice balance between the sweet deep light spice combo of the malts, backed by a citrusy piney flavor of hops. Not my favorite flavoring or bittering hops, but worked nicely. This beer didn’t quite stand up to Dreadnaught for me and my style, but it definitely held its ground against other competitors. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Nov 20, 2007 Hazy golden color; rocky head. Very nice aroma, hoppy and spicy, Belgian hopping, flowery. Good body structure, malty, dry, very bitter; there is yeast, spices and some honey too; the flavors are very well mixed. Excellent. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 17, 2007 Bottle. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is hop, fruit, yeast. Flavour is sweet, hop, yeast, malt. Nice beer. ajm (902), Los Angeles, California, USA Nov 11, 2007 Updated: May 10, 2009Really quite good. The transcendant sweetness is very much botanical and fruity (like a drier watermelon), which very addictively contains the hoppy flavor. It’s not very hoppy at all, really. A hell of a Tripel because of its real uniqueness. Carl (11), Issaquah, Washington, USA Nov 10, 2007 Poured from the bottle a very light, clear golden color. Nice strong hop-induced aroma with floral and candy textures. The sweetness of the beer and tartness of the hops collide more than balance each other off. There’s a lot of that "expressive estery fruitness" courtesy of the Beligain yeast and brewing process. Has a nice, long finish. Not what I’m used to, but I very much enjoyed this beer.
