Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

75 cl bottle at Delirium, Brussels.Huge thick white head crowns this cloudy golden beer. Very hoppy nose, like a newly mown lawn, but with fruity, even perfumy notes as well. Great bitter flavavours, grassy and fruity hops, very Hommelbier-like. Full-bodied with good carbonation. Rare, but worth seeking out.

Sweet fruity aroma remniscient more of the tripel style than an IIPA. The beer has an effervescent golden/orange color with an 1 inch head that is not going anywhere soon. The flavor is unique to say the least. It is almost as if my mouth is trying to decide which beer I am drinking. At times there is tripel, and at times there is ipa. The hoppiness is peppery spice, and a mild discernible citrus. This is a very interesting ale!

(Rating #1032)

Cloudy honey gold with a towering finely bubbled head displaying eternal retention. Aroma of chamomile, clover, musty yeast, citrus peel. Chewy malt with big grassy hoppiness, flavours of sweet spices, citrus fruit, bready yeast. Surprisingly bitter finish (woody/stemmy). Really unique among the triples I’ve tried, which at this point admittedly are few.

1 pint 9.4 oz 9.0%ABV Belgian Dobbelen IPA Tripel. Poured out into XXL whipped cream head. Hazy yellow to light copper color. Typical Belgian type beer aroma laced with citrus hops. Heavy lacing clings to the glass. This beer is highly carbonated. Flavor is a nice mix of sour and bitter hops, sweet malt, some spice and Belgian yeast. It finishes very dry with a lingering sour lemon-ish taste. Very interesting beer.

"Handsom gnome adorned bottle bearing hop illustrations. Anyway. Sweet floral wine gum, lemon and line and pine apple cubes thrown in. Misty and golden fine frothy head persisting even in october fest pint pot. Dusty belgum yeast. Penny chew citrus. Uh. Some hop bite underneath but but but soft and belgum despite us hops. Aroma is yeah, defintfly honey. Um. Yeah. Theres a dash of whats it called . . . . . A tea spoon of barbar. No alcohol. We ll be ducked after this. A slight manure and honey aroma. You got that? That ll do." ( As transcribed by Octo, Pub Antico Beccaria, Firenze).

Golden haze with characteristic rocky head. Classy and restrained like an old film star. Occupies a dry gorgeous pocket of Belgian IPA beauty.

The aroma can only be described as zesty and spicy. Nice delicate floral hop arragements lie softly in the background. Hazy apricot coloring, subtle fruitiness of pears and apples. Huge rocky white head with super sticky clingy lace. This is a really beautiful beer. Spicy with a bit of zing as the hops slap you in the face and fade away slowly melting into a sweet buttered biscuit maltiness that melts in your mouth.
