Let sit, it forms wicked crazy head formations. How cute, it thinks it’s a cross between Duvel and Orval. The head even formed a fucking bridge, which is so unprecented I had no choice but to drop an F-bomb. The aroma is of dusty yeast, foresty-tangeriney hops, subtle coriander and bog myrtle (OK, this may just be Chouffe yeast but you can’t have one without the other, can you?). Bitter, rooty flavours crossing between grassy and citrusy (kumquat, lime, yuzu) hops. Malts are bready fresh and doughy warm. The yeast provides the strongest "tripel" element, a dusty almost leathery signature. The alcohol makes itself evident towards the finish, along with a sweet malty kiss before fading into an unrelenting bitterness. OK - cut back on the bitterness and you’ve got a better beer, but also one that’s been done a few times already. With the bitterness, it is unique and interesting but not quite as good. Hey, I still like it, and now I’ve got the rest of the bottle to enjoy. Where’d I put that stilton? fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Good body structure, malty, dry, very bitter; there is yeast, spices and some honey too; the flavors are very well mixed. Excellent. argo0 (6994), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is medium sweet, floral, some herbal, light pepper. Taste is moderately sweet, herbal, floral, pepper, some grassy. Dry finish is the only sign of the high alcohol. Soft medium-full body. harrisoni (6899), Ashford, Kent, England

Gold, lasting off white head. Belgian yeast aroma and strong harsh hop. Plus tangerine tripel fruit. Good beer. Very hoppy and tangeriney. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Hazy orange color, big white cloudy head. Overwhelming Amarillo hoppy aroma. Sweet malty and fruity flavor and good hoppy bitterness. Rounded mouthfeel. Cracker malty and hoppy aftertaste. Very American, but when thinking deeper - also tripel-like. Delicious. Maria (6315), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Thank you Fonefan! Warm golden, unclear with a huge, nice, creamy and very lasting head. The aroma has notes of yeast and nice floral, herbal, citrussy hops. The flavour is initially very bitter, and a bit monotonous, but after a few sips, and as the beer grows warmer, a bag full of nice notes reveal themselves.... I find citrus, mostly grapefruit, yeast, herbs, mango - and suddenly a light sweetness and delicious caramel. Normally I do not like the beer-kids of mixed Belgian and American marriages, but this baby should be the pride and joy of the "parents".... faroeviking (6125), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
