Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Bottle shared at tasting thanks to chadspivey.
Pours a bright hazy rich golden color with a lasting white head. Smell is yeasty, hoppy, floray, and dusty. Taste is more hoppy than expected, a bit dry and dusty, and very IPA like, with light citrusy hoppy flavor. Medium bodied. Good stuff, that I’d like to give another try.

Pour a hazy golden glass that will foam if you make it. A slightly sweet fruity , maybe even bannana and yeast aroma. A nice fruity and lightly bitter taste and just barely a lightly over carbonated palate kept me from rating this beer even higher. I like it.

Huge foamy eruption before the cap was removed. Big rocky white head that sticks around, a classic Munich brauhaus pour. Nice herbal, grassy weed aroma . Light/medium body and very smooth. Dry cracker malt taste up front with an incredible sweet spicy mix of west coast and euro hops to finish. very easy drinking, love this one. 1307

Bottle(batch 2) from Whole Foods. Pours a hazy golden/orange color. Slightly sweet yeasty aroma with a fairly noticable hoopy smell. Some spices as well. The brew is very dry and hoppy up front. The pepper quality really maked it seem dry. Bitter citric finish. Some of the Belgian qualities are hanging around, but seem to be dominated by the spicy hop qualities.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dull gold with some floaties. Large brilliant white head that is continuously fed by a multitude of tiny carbonation bubbles. The head ends up looking more like whipped cream it is so dense, but leaves surprisingly little lace. Very pleasant aroma of citrus, sugar, yeast, and a bit of spice. The flavor is a bit sweet with sugar and citrus the most prevalent with some spice detected as well. Really nice crisp mouthfeel and the bitterness is well restrained and in good proportion. The alcohol is very well hidden with no hint of the 9% abv. Very enjoyable beer.

On tap at Cafe Bos in Amsterdam. Light yellow body with nice tall head. Citrus nose. Prickly mouthfeel. Taste of citrus. Spice coming in at the end. Quite subdued for an IPA. Warms at the end. Enjoyed two of these and felt a bit overwhelmed on a nice, warm day.

cloudy straw colored golden pour w/ some visable carbonation and a huge frothy white pillowy head. Aroma is fairly light full of belgian candied sugars definate bread dough notes and a very light grassy presence.. the hop is very well covered in the aroma. Palate is warm and well coated, lightly creamy. Flavor is very sweet typical belgian candied sugars some light dry grass notes in the slightly dry finish some nice fruit notes possibly apricot and a light alcohol in the finish.
