Glass lace is exceptional. I am really digging the aroma. Loads of floral hops, sweet citrus, satsuma comes to mind, and wild yeast underpinning. The flavor is equally as yummy. Sweet at first then a developing bitterness mixed with pepper and more sweetness. Some alcohol comes forth just before the swallow. The finsih is quite bitter. The palate is really nice, medium, with a hop crispness and not syrupiness. An excellent amalgamation of styles. ucusty (1886), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2007 Poured a thick hazy pale yellow with a thick/profuse creamy white head that laces well and retains for a while. The aroma is very hoppy, sweet, some spice, light sourness, and some hints of candy. The flavor is very hoppy, dry, waxy hop bitterness is prominent, some Belgian sourness in the background, citrus and grapefruit. The palate was warm and waxy. I wish this showed much more of the tripel side of it rather than the IPA side. I was really in the mood for Belgian that night and was a tad let down because of the prominence of the hops, still good though. marcus (1860), Sacramento, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 22, 2006 This blonde ale poured with a massive white head, most of which dissipated in a few minutes. There is a strong floral aroma, and a very solid body that is much more malty than any other IPA I have tasted. However, the hops and malt blend very nicely to create a unique and satisfying flavor. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA

I love the chouffe brewery in general and really liked this one. It pours a hazy golden color with a light white head. Not overly hoppy but definitely noticeable with some nice citrus fruit in the smell and taste. This beer is blended nicely and I like the fact that they didnt try to go overboard on the hops, but kept it simple. iowaherkeye (1856), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 19, 2006 750mL bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando--we shall see how it survived the trip. Pours a hazy light golden straw with a large creamy white head. Aroma is full of yeast, granny smith apples, some orange peel, unripened bananas, dust, pepper, floral and spicy hops, a little bit of sweet malts. The IIPA comes through at the end with the alcohol and piney hops. Also some hay in there. Kinda weird in that there’s the Belgian yeast and candy sweetness in the beginning (as opposed to the caramel and toffee malts of IIPAs), but ends much the way an IIPA would. It seems like this should be under the IIPA and not tripel, but oh well. The balance and flavors meld together much better once this guy warms up, so take your time drinking this (I don’t know why you wouldn’t in the first place). Pretty lacing. At first taste, I thought this brew was overrated. Now I’m not so sure. I know most people don’t like pilsensers, but this is sort of like an overhopped pilsener with some added awesomeness. The more I drink this (I get to drink the whole 750mL), the more I’m liking it. Also, no matter how you pour this, the head is huge. Fairly light bodied for 9%, and still well carbonated even after most is spent on the head. Great stuff!
