Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

75 cl bottle. Blonde, huge foamy head. Lemon, cream and red berries in the aroma. Initial malty sweetness attacked by an almost oily hoppiness. Cream, lemon and red berries. Long oily yet floral hopbitter aftertaste. The fruit, the power of the hops and the sweetness partly hide the alcohol. This bottle was worth every cent of its almost 9 Euros.

A Mes rate: Draught at ZBF. Darkish blonde and slightly hazy, impressive chunky head. Slight honey in the aroma and a little yeast huge bags of hops in there too. And thats pretty much the story of the rest of the rate. HOPS. Sooo much hops. Almost minty in places there is so much spruce and green stuff its like being in a forrest. Dry grassy finish. Great palate. A full on hop fest and rather enjoyable. Impressive chouffage and I never thought I would say that...

Bottle @ ChristianScheffel tasting. [thank you, BeerBiker!]
Pours a relatively pale yellow with a gian bubbly white head that leaves plenty of lacing around the glass. Aroma ishoppy with grassy and barnlike notes coming through as well. Nice, creamy palate. Flavour is initially sweet and slightly sugary, but there are lots of nice hops to balance it out with. Weird and wonderful.

750ml bottle shared courtesy egajdzis. Poured a medium golden color that initially poured all white head. Aromas of grass, citrus, lemons, and a little fruity. Tastes of fruits, grass, and lemons with a malty, honey sweetness. Lots of lacing left on the glass. Alcohol well hidden.

Immensely zesty, limey, minty hop nose matches nicely the doughy, comfortable and pillowy Chouffe yeast. Typical belgian cloudy golden topped by a generous lasting white head show. Offers a delicate body that surprised by the relatively gentle carbonation that I expected more vigorous. Firm medium body otherwise that shows no watery edge. Plenty of fruity hints that visit a wide array of tropical fruits(papaya, pineapple, mango), spices (pepper, sage, marjoram), all in a blended manner. Feels like a thick summer drink, alcohol being restrained and bringing forth fresh grassy and hay-like flavors that borders earthiness when blended with the yeast shot. I found this absolutely delicious and it was certainly my beer of the night despite being the first candidate.

Bottle at derilium cafe, brussels. They had run out of bottles in the cool room, so they had to run across the road and get me a bottle from the other cellar. Which in turn ment it wasnt cold when i first drank it, so after sitting with it in an ice bucket it was game. Really hoppy beast, i can smell it without going near th glass. spicey yeasty character, such a different style of beer that could be a love or hate thing, alll the different types of hops are evedent, amarillo for fruity citrus, sazz for grassy citrus bitterness and the other type iv forgotten was bitter and spicey, perppery. Really good beer to try at last.

(Draught, Frisco Burrito) Pours a cloudy golden body with a medium-sized white head. Aroma of florals, mustiness, orange, and herbs. Flavor of banana, florals hops, grass, and herbs with a dry finish. QUite complex and interesting.
