Sep 3, 2006 Had this on tap at the Maproom for my first 30th birthday beer. This had a major kick in the end. A big wallop of hops, alcohol, and sticky sweetness. Took sometime to sip through. Very thick mouthfeel, round, and long lasting. Well worth the price. Strong floral, perfume nose; similar in the taste. A nice beer to check out if you have the chance.

Apr 29, 2006 Tap. At Andy’s . Really glad I made the trip, This looked typical, all hazy and chuncky, Nose was fruit. Taste was really nice. Ballanced, Full body with lots of deffering floural hpps and good fruity finish. Really good brew.

Aug 18, 2007 Bottle at the Chris_o shindig. Melon, musk, blackberry and cinnamon aroma. Light melon sweetness, clean, fresh, good chewy hops appear after a pause. Much more delicate than the abv would indicate. Nice.

Jan 27, 2009 Excellent beer. "IPA" is a bit of a stretch but it is hoppy for a tripel. Hazy golden color with white foamy head. The hops plus Belgian yeast and sweet pale malt work well together. Nice medium body and dry finish. The tripel/IPA combo I’d like to see more Belgian brewers attempt.

Nov 19, 2008 Thanks to Carythedude for this one. Pours golden with a huge white head. Aroma is lightly fruity, spicey, hoppy. Flavor is the fruity, nice balance between the malt profile i expect from tripels with a surprisingly strong hop hit.

Jun 20, 2006 Took a while for me to warm up to this, but staring at the label and the magnifcent head gave me time to relax and enjoy. Enjoy I did - from the label to the beer and all its parts to the fun that the name conjurs - doubelen IPA tripel
- yeh, maybe something is owed to Urthel Hop-it, maybe not. And as often said, imitation is the best form of flattery.
Highly recommend you at least give this one a try.

Jun 22, 2006 Pours a hazy buff color, super carbonated, with a 4" frothy head that slowly became the shape of the mountain in Close Encounters. Spicy, mineral aroma wiith pear and banana. Sweet and earthy in flavor with some very spicy notes. Has some lemon rind/ household cleaner hints. Strong alcohol presence. Finishes bitter. Somehow the hops don’t shine through like I would have imagined, though the citrus flavor is interesting.

Aug 7, 2009 Bottle: Hazy yellow colour, with a big head! Aroma of lots of citrus and flowers! Flavor had lots of citrus,flowery,and the typical belgian yeastynes from this brewery, and as it stands in the head "Abbey Trippel" so i can agree there is a mix og belgian abbey and a strong US IPA. Some caramel and malty sweetnes is there to. Medium body and a medium fruity finish. Nice mix this one, well done.
