| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 9, 2006 Updated: May 3, 200812 oz bottle, batch 2. Hazy very pale golden with a massive white head. Fairly thick sediment layer in the bottom of the bottle. Zesty saaz aroma over the top of a spicy/citrusy yeast note. Light bubble gummy notes and a touch of dustiness as well. Bright triple-ish aroma with a slightly more prominent hop character. Flavour is much nice than I found in the tap version with none of the grassy notes I found previously. Moderate bitterness, but mostly some noble spicing playing out over the normal spicy yeast. Apple and pear esters linger thoughout. Creamy body despite the dry finish. Wheaty and peppery. Very dry in the finish despite all of the sweet esters up front. It’s more triple than IPA but I can see where they were going with it, and I like it much more than I did the first time around.
Tap at the Hop Devil Grill. Hazy yellow beer topped by a thick pillowy white head. Beautiful appearance. Sweet honeyish aroma, pale malt, light aromatic Belgian yeast. Triple-ish smelling, for a lack of better descriptions. Light with a hint of candi sugar aroma. Flavour is okay, lean bodied and dry tasting as it should be. Spicy hop flavour, but not as much as I was expecting. Long bitter finish. It’s a nice beer, but like the Hop-It, I don’t think it’s a great one.

Soft glowing golden body, slightly murky from some small bit of yeast which made its way into my glass. Huge overflowing white head with thick lacing. Dusty, pungent hop and candy sugar aroma, punchy and fruity. Very lively and carbonated on the tongue, with a kick of alcohol across the back. Full of yeast, candy sugar, pineapple fruit flavors, also earthy and musty, just slightly. Very good stuff. yngwie (4974), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Bottle, 75cl. Hazy, golden body, topped by an off-white, fluffy head. Hops dominates the aroma, leaving a nice fruityness, but there’s also a malty sweetness. The flavor has piney hops, malt, and a Belgian-style sweetness. Full body, and a nice, bitter finish. Lovely blend of Belgian ale and American-style hopping. Just love those beers. (070928) MoritzF (4973), Bochum, Germany

Yeasty and moderately sweet malty aroma with fresh and aromatic, slightly floral and zesty hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied with a calm carbonation. Pale malt-character with light notes of citrus and almost piney, zesty hops, lingering into the lasting well-blended malty and hoppy finish. Superb and moreish brew (22.VII.09). madsberg (4966), Søborg, Denmark
