The aroma has notes of pungent citric hops, sweet bready malt, Belgian yeasty esters, pepper, coriander, clove, and a dash of phenolic activity.
The taste is sugary trippel at the base supported by a snap of resin induced hop. The spice character runs throughout tying it all together and is perhaps the best quality of the brew. Further investigation find a interesting banana and orange peel nature. The finish is surprisingly dry and even a bit astringent from the hop addition. The mouth feel not has aggressive as one would think, smooth and quite approachable, only moderately warming and that is after finishing most of the bottle. Did I say this is a bit sticky?
A wonderful expression of brewers art, a blend of new world and old world that works big time. GET YA SOME! cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2006 Foamed out of the bottle upon opening. Poured a hazy pale yellow color with a large white head. The aroma was yeasty, citrusy, malty and dusty. Fruity flavor to start is a little tart. Then it turns hoppy with a big dry bitter finish. Alcohol is very hidden. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a hazy yellowish gold brew with a very thick head. Slow dissolving head and good lacing. Aroma of yeast, pears, banana, and flowery hops. Taste is somewhat spicy and sweet with a bitter aftertaste. Pretty good foreign IPA. Ughsmash (4074), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 11, 2006 On tap at Maproom. Poured a hazy golden with a well-retained creamy beige head... just beautiful. Nose was rich and intriguing... rockin’ dried apricots, spiced-up pineapple, herbal hops, and a solid dose of pine hoppage. This was velvety-smooth from the first touch on the lips through the finish... flavors of dried and fresh light fruits, white peppery spices, and fresh, fragrant pine. The hops provide a moderate-high level of bitterness and a fine twist on the tripel style. Alcohol was warming and complimentary to the drink. Fastastic brew! Sammy (4051), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2006 highly hopped Belgium, the second in days. Bitterness is not as drinkable as was the Uthel hop-it, i.e. a character of malted offsetting like a double ipa. its got musty yeast that doesn’t right hit the spot with me. Ntonetheless, much creaminess and an interesting hop profile for the hophead portion of me. Fresh from Knightly Spirits in Orlando. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Updated: Jul 5, 2006Bottle (750ml). Shared with GregClow, tupalev, DougShoemaker, mds, Radek and others. Slightly hazy yellow with a huge lasting white head. Sharply spicy aroma, extremely yeasty, bitter hops, some light fruity malt attempting break through - huge spicy bitterness, well done. Taste - excellent - like a hopped up legit tripel, complex, somewhat funky herbal hop spiciness, truly big, dry hop bitterness in the finish; the fruity malt is a little less than a traditional tripel, but who cares? Lively, bitter, moderately alcoholic mouthfeel, with a crisp, dry finish - excellent. Radek Kliber (3986), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
