Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is lemon grass, spicy and yeasty. A medium bodied tripel. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are spicy and slightly bitter. Very dry, not geuze dry, but dry tasting. Light and refreshing. Crisp and clean. Interesting combination of Belgian yeasts and fruits, spices and hops. Different. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2006 Cask. Thought this rating was lost but my notebook turned up while packing to move at the end of the summer. Yay! Pastel yellow, big creamy white head. Yeasty lemon aroma, muted spice. Very sharp spice in the flavour overrides mild yeasty lemon. Intersting, try to like it but the spice (hops?) is a bit too sharp to be quaffable. Average palate is aided by suspended yeast. (3+). Interesting. Rciesla (3880), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange yellow body with a big head. Aroma is hoppy citrus, banana, coconut. Starts sweet but then is dominated by hoppiness and a big etoh bite at the end. overly hoppy, i dont see the hype here. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 18, 2006 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a extremely large sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a slightly hazy typically carbonated yellow colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was floral and malt hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of hops and vinous notes. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. Grovlam (3825), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Bottle. Huge fizzy white head that lasted forever. Amazing lacework like never before. It was actually so thick that when you moved the glass, you could not see the foam move alt all. Leaving behind big lumps of whipped cream like lacing. Body was slightly hazy with quit big yeast particles in flow. Color was lovely orange colored. Aroma was extremely pleasing, with notes of pineapple, elderflower, floral, perfume and citrus. Underlying notes of caramel, apricot, peach, fruit, hint of liquorish, spice, yeast, coriander and clove. Very complex and very impressive mix of styles as both the IPA and Tripel comes through. Full bodied with lively carbonation and light dry and alcoholic texture. Well balanced moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Lovely sweet overripe fruit and lingering finish. Wow that was very nice. Slightly acidic, honey-fruity-malty, smoothly grassy-hoppy aroma with slight alcohol hints. Honey-fruity maltiness with smooth, aromatic, grassy-flowery hops. Medium-bodied, somewhat carbonated but smooth palate. A very pleasant and smooth, yet strongly hoppy brew. Braudog (3779), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 12, 2007 On tap at Biergarden, Portsmouth VA. As I’d expected, a very "Belgian" visual ... hazy yellow with a big airy, foam topping. This drank extremely smoothly with a definite alcohol-spice kick, a bit of a dirty orange peel aspect, wonderfully complex, yeasty, bready, grassy, barky, with a quite bitter finish. Excited to read the description of this as a cross with American Imperial IPAs, because it all makes sense now! (#2694, 2/10/2007)
